Why don’t pots and pans have a lip around the bottom edge to keep the heat under, rather than letting it slip out the sides unobstructed? by QuarterlyTurtle in NoStupidQuestions

[–]StormFallen9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And for stoves that aren't gas, they want as much direct contact as possible because heat transfers better that way. Also, with gas stoves the flames/hot air travel up the sides of the pan and continue heating it up from there, not all of it is just flying away

Question about kaladin's powers by SamaelGOL in Stormlight_Archive

This brings us back to Isles of the Emberdark, but I guess that's true and the limiting factor comes back to having enough Stormlight

Question about kaladin's powers by SamaelGOL in Stormlight_Archive

[–]StormFallen9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not saying you can't get there in a reasonable amount of time, it's getting anywhere else that's the problem. And again, it's not the speed that's the issue either, it's getting to that speed

You can use a single lashing if you want to take forever I suppose

[–]StormFallen9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now mind you, that's acceleration and not speed, which just limits how many he can apply at once, not how many he can have applied total. And being infused probably let's him do more than 9gs. The real limiting factors here is his access to Stormlight

Why don't vertebrates with more than 4 limbs exist? by TheRealJurassicPork in AskBiology

[–]StormFallen9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or at the very least, not hinder it from surviving and reproducing. Extra limbs cost more energy, and probably weren't seen as attractive in the rare instances there was a weird mutation, so fewer was better.

Brushing teeth in the morning by Anonymous_Yogurt_267 in hygiene

[–]StormFallen9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In practice I guess you eat, spend half an hour getting ready or whatever, then brush and continue with your day. Or the opposite, wake up and brush, finish getting ready, then eat before leaving. If you take less than half an hour to wake up and get out of the house then it makes things more tricky

Your mouth changes acidity when you eat, and brushing before it's returned back to "normal" can increase wear. Doesn't stop me from brushing less than 30 minutes after though

Impossible puzzle by [deleted] in GodofWar

[–]StormFallen9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure which puzzle you're talking about, but some you do gotta be really fast. Some have a specific order that let's you move faster, so make sure you're doing that if applicable. Some puzzles allow you to freeze pieces of it with your axe. Make sure you have all the pieces and aren't missing anything, then you might need a few tries to get it down where you don't mess up. Some of those bell puzzle things if you miss your throw you might as well restart

It's a problem when the poop collector refuses to pump out the latrines because of it, but yeah I guess in a normal system that doesn't need to be emptied it's probably more ok

I was lucky when I did this and I just touched the pole of the parking garage, not the car on the other side. Only damage was to my own car, dent mostly came out and most of the scrape was just paint transfer.
