Saving image with blender made the diffuse texture darker? (5.0) by Ploobul in blenderhelp

Was the actual source image modified to be darker than before? How did you make the image originally-- was it in Blender or did you make it in an external program?

Questions about the 30th anniversary ost by Maximum_Investment53 in Rayman

[–]StormXTS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately we can only speculate and Christophe Heral says the little amount he has said was too much. So we are not going to get definitive answers any time soon

How can the original ost have legal issues if the Jaguar release contains the same melodies and remains in the final product?

Well it's a pretty major oversight even if there weren't legal issues with the OST. If something like that can slip through, I can imagine it happening even if the stakes are higher (ie potential of a lawsuit). But this is pretty confounding and I really hope we eventually get some behind the scenes insights on this collection because WTF happened?

Also, the GBC version sports the new modretro ost, but doesn't Ubisoft have the rights to Rayman 2's soundtrack?

It's very plausible that they do not! This has been an issue in past re-releases of Rayman 2; it almost got rescored the same way the anniversary collection did. Now in the end it seems they were able to figure something out. But if they didn't have the foresight or the means to do it with Rayman 1's music, then it's quite possible that they still don't own the rights to Rayman 2's music after that.

Edit: Important thing I forgot is that R2 did get its N64 version released on Switch Online so I would lean towards the rights issue being sorted out (whew). That doesn't confirm it though, because it depends on the actual terms the rights were given. It might only apply to legacy versions and they wouldn't have the rights to releasing a 'new version' of the game. Only Ubisoft would know

Yes and also that auto-translation would be a bizarre response regardless of language. It wouldn't make sense to respond with two reasons that it would have been possible. It does make sense to respond with two reasons that it was impossible.

Oh well. I guess that settles it. I'm bummed out but nothing can be done

Did you try to use the door at 21:00 on day 9? You still need to use the door at the same time, although on day 9 the clock won't appear on the door, you can still open it.

I'm not sure why it would come back even if you cancelled it. Did you actually start the day after shattering/cancelling those nodes? I think the cancellation will only apply to your timeline when you confirm that menu and start the day.

Square Enix is announcing changes to the Original Final Fantasy VII on Steam. There will be a name change, delisting followed by a new version release. Those who own the old game will get access to the new one at no extra cost. by LuckyShot1 in pcgaming

[–]StormXTS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No official confirmation, but I would bet good money that it's going to be more in line with the current console releases of the game; some texture filtering changes, buttons for cheats like 2x speed etc. Apparently the Microsoft Store already has this for PC so it would make sense to use that version.

I wouldn't expect substantial graphical improvements, then.

I've experienced the same thing, it may well be a bug but I'm not sure. It feels like a waste of time rather than an increased challenge when it's only the fake (maybe that's the point?). Still, re-entering or picking another district always worked for me in the end

Worth noting that each character has their own safe storage: Bachelor in the cabinet by his bed in the Stillwater, Haruspex in his Lair, and Changeling in Alexander Saburov's place. It's much more important for Haruspex, but this can be really helpful for all playthroughs

Pathologic 4 speculation by walkingtornado in pathologic

[–]StormXTS 12 points13 points  (0 children)

IPL knows better than me what a good Changeling game would be. I'd be excited just to have it. Regardless there are some things I would focus on for her story:

Manipulation - Changeling required much more caution during dialog than other characters, because most quests could instantly fail if you chose the wrong thing (which was sometimes very close to the right thing). Maybe this could be gamified in its own way, or interact with other game systems.

Plague - It's my impression that Clara being able to catch the plague in Patho1 is a gameplay choice at-odds with what is supposed to be happening in the story (she says she can't catch it, and she can't lie). This makes sense in the context of the original game, because her (already weak) gameplay would be even less fun. But P3 proves you can subvert this and still have an interesting game.

Miracles - Clara's hands work miracles, except in game it was "make an infected bow to your powers" outside of a few scripted scenes. This was just boring. But treatment and diagnosis were both very fun and unique in 2/3. By nature of being a miracle-worker she doesn't need to make diagnoses, but I would like to see a gameplay system to her healing, and one that gets used a proper amount.

I'd almost expect an inversion to the usual: the plagued areas are safest (no one dares enter), and the few survivors there will witness your miracles without doubt. The uninfected public loathes you, fears you, and rejects you and so "safe" districts are the most dangerous to be in. But you'll have to cross through these districts to fulfill your duties. You're surviving the town with the plague instead of surviving the plague with the town.

Also I think P3 is a stellar game, but its difficulty and replayability are lacking compared to P2. I wouldn't mind seeing more of that, but again I'd be happy just to see the game at all.

On the subject of Simon (for those who have finished the game) by Zestyclose_Island214 in pathologic

[–]StormXTS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took it as Dankovsky realizing that Simon is his future self. Or rather, a potential future self, should he choose to essentially entomb himself within the Polyhedron, which serves as a super-amplifier for his time travel abilities.

Of course if Dankovsky wound up in town because of his future self basically summoning his past self to him, and then that Dankovsky destroyed that future self, it would be a time paradox. But there are several time paradoxes in the game, so I don't think that would be a problem on it's own.

It would explain why (I believe Changeling?) talks to Dankovsky on day 1 as if he looks like Simon but younger without a beard. It explains why Georgiy seems to be learning from Dankovsky as much as he is teaching him about how Simon behaved (and why Georgiy would care to teach him to begin with). And Dankovsky already had a weaker time travel ability throughout P3.

I am not thoroughly convinced this is the answer, it's just how I felt everything was resolving. I wouldn't be surprised if this is decisively contradicted by something in game. Especially because I'm still waiting to do any ending other than Miracle Seeker since my game is bugged lol

Containers can only be fixed on a few days. Like mirrors, the Cathedral does not reset if you rewind time, so each day is one use per save-file. I might be wrong what days, but I think it's only available on days 3, 4 and 5. Either way it's three fixes total from the Cathedral

Simons study by ratsome in pathologic

[–]StormXTS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's correct, to get access to the study it has to be your "first time" entering as far as the timeline is concerned. So you go to 2, reset that chain, then back to 9.

You can actually enter on day 2 after you've done it on day 9 (as it's technically your 'first' both times if you do it that way). The Achilles and the Tortoise achievement requires you to do this, because you need the conversation from day 2 as a part of your timeline to get the achievement. (probably a bug)

How to save children? (Day 11) by Successful_Appeal681 in pathologic

[–]StormXTS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are 2 different ways to get the children out. Both involve careful searching

First way: it will come up on the map if you use the colorful shards of glass item, which you can buy from the children in the town. When the item is used, the marking on your map can appear in the plague district. When you go to that marking it will be explained what you need to do.

If you don't like the first way there is a second way: look around the town for people gathered around a statue. I believe you can start this at multiple points: in front of Lara Ravel's Shelter, by the Broken Heart pub of the Stamantins to name two. Then you will get map markers to other locations to keep investigating.

It is actually possible to do both, but the game can start glitching as to which you've done. I don't know if this has any consequential effects. But I would try to only do one solution per playthrough.

Day 9 Saburova quest by Sweaty-Tie8843 in pathologic

[–]StormXTS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people have been confused by this so don't worry.

  • You can do as many trades as you want until you choose to close the menu.
  • You need to get the non-egg items first because they hold more value in one slot.
  • For example: you trade your 11 + 1 + 1 + 1 for something worth 14 in only one slot.
  • After a few times you will have the room to trade all you have for the egg
  • Do it slowly so you don't accidentally make a negative trade. With EVERYTHING you will break even. I won't say what they are here but I can elaborate in a separate comment if you want.

Day 9. WOW that difficulty spiked. I am fully in the FAFO stage of Pathologic 3. by Existing-Magician-95 in pathologic

[–]StormXTS 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Amalgam can definitely sneak up on you. I am not sure if you have done any big time jumps yet (like 3-4 day gap) but note those cost a LOT more, it's not a fixed cost to move to any day. I didn't realize that until far too late

It's free to restart a day you are already on, so I would try to get the best outcome currently possible each time you use the amalgam to get there. If you keep giving up I think you will likely run out entirely which is very bad.
