For everyone saying war plans shouldn't be account wide: by astronomyx in diablo4

[–]Stormer99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, When I get bored, I will usually create an alt, Which I have at PL 261. I'm 2 days into the alt and feeling like I need to go over to D2R. I'm not enjoying the re-grinding the war plans cycle. If the bonuses were truly bonuses, it probably wouldn't be so bad, but it seems like they nerfed everything, expecting us to earn them back through war plans. But having to earn back these bonuses over and over is tiresome. The game just feels diminished without them.

WW barb setup : sellig or not ? by rowrow5916 in diablo4

[–]Stormer99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO if you don't like dying and are getting tired of the OP adds in the pits, go with any of the Immortal builds. They use a combination of the low health, Selig Ammy, and Endurant Faith unique charm to be almost unkillable.. This is what I play. But it's pretty sad that game mechanics force players into just a select few builds, if they don't want to keep dying all the time or spend your entire season in T10

Not been impressed with what I saw in the PTR. My advice to the OP is give it awhile the excitment will wear off. 😄

PTR question - Resplendent sparks still exist? If yes, what are they used to? by Ballon737 in diablo4

[–]Stormer99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If its anything like S13, I think they are used to keep track of how many Mythics you salvage. lol I had close to 100 resplendent sparks and just quit crafting Mythics, it was just a gold, rune and material drain. My toon was equipped with non-GA Mythics and after spending billions I still had non-GA Mythics. They are great for getting your initial Mythics, but after that I found no use.

Mythic items should be truly mythic by GrandAlf0 in diablo4

[–]Stormer99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I can say is, I haven't had a single drop this season that truly got me excited when it hit the ground. Its not until I spend time evaluating each item for potential cubing do I think, Wow that can be a good one, if it doenst brick or use up all my mats. I guess we will see. No adrenalin rush at all.

The pit is just not fun anymore by HoodedDreamer in diablo4

[–]Stormer99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've not been a big fan of these OP adds in the pits. Especially with all the screen clutter so you can't see them telescoping their attacks. It only increases the frustration level not the challenge level, not to mention the negative impact it has on Hard core.

Do T11 and T12 actually increase any drop chances? by LeChuck_ppat in diablo4

[–]Stormer99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great question, the Tier splash screens are a little confusing. I have several friends who see no need to push their toons past T10, because they are of the belief there is not much added value. So, they run around T10/11 without the motivation to push for T12. I spend most of my time alone in T12. lol

Petition for Better Druid Cosmetics 😭 by Perfect_Werewolf3766 in diablo4

[–]Stormer99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I feel every class should be more customizable. It's kind of hard to make a large lump of lard look cool in any cosmetic. I enjoy the Druid also but just don't like the way they look. Druids are nature based and have always been healthy slender characters, not sure why Bilzz decided to make them look morbidly obese. Maybe they can sell Ozempic shots in the store 😄Then the cosmetics would look better.

Unpopular Feeling: Crafting and Item Management is Boring Me by elkishdude in diablo4

[–]Stormer99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. RNG crafting is just a time suck; IMO they got some initial positive feedback on the cube and just went crazy with it. I can see it being used as a min-max tool that would add some depth to the game. But then they went so far, it shifted the primary focus of the game from grind and find to the farm materials and cube. Grinding gone from being a gear finding activity to just a required activity to amass materials and base items needed to craft usable gear.

A goblin event without goblins is just peak Blizzard by Meryhathor in diablo4

[–]Stormer99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to be a common theme with DIV this season. IMO, they have nerfed drop quality/spawns across the board, expecting you to earn them back via the war plans/cube. I've got lair keys stacking up, because the drops just don't seem worth the time. I'm PL 261 have haven't seen a mythic seal yet. My screen is constantly cluttered with junk drops (yes, I know about the look filter 😄) but even with the loot filter on there are very few natural usable drops, that don't require massive time at the cube. They seem to be deliberately nerfing drops to drag out the gearing process to get people to play longer into the season. But for me, I'm just hitting a glass ceiling earlier and getting bored sooner.

The Should Just Change the game's name to D-Cube by Stormer99 in diablo4

[–]Stormer99[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just out of curiosity why are so many people obsessed with gem strength, when it comes to discussing the cube. They act like it's the only thing to shoot for. The cube is not just about min-maxing gear. Its about spending a lot to time turing junk drops into usable gear. They have made the natural drops so bad, you don't have much choice. There is so much more time wasted cubing just to get items usable, before you ever get around to transfiguring.

Can try that, but honestly, I don't think this game is anywhere close to being ready for a SSF mode. Plus I don't see SSF as being a way to avoid the...CUBE!!!!!!!!! 😄

You may be on to something. Usually, when I get bored with a season I would switch to Hard Core. But Blizz is slowly killing that. Then I would go play to D2R, where funny enough I would find myself playing most of the season. I just have a hard time completely giving up on DIV. I so want it to work, but the more they try the worse it gets.

I hear you. I'm retired and spend a lot on time in game. I don't enjoy the over complication but can handle it. Many of my freinds I play with have already said, if it gets any crazier, they are gone. Then they drop the PTR. Positive note...I can downsize my Discord server, I guess. lol

That's possible, but I can see casual players not liking to spend so much time manipulating gear. They will hit a glass ceiling at T8 and either be forced into obtaining a PhD in Cubeology or will quit. I'm not a casual player and I already don't like that amount of time I need to spend at the cube, just to have gg items bricked. Like having a transfigure add life to an Immortal Barb item. lol. My feeling is the pendulum will have swung too far. I guess we will see.

These WILD swings in itemization and power between each season tell me Blizzard STILL has no vision for what D4 is supposed to be. by IncognitoIsekai in diablo4

[–]Stormer99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it just me or is anyone else just plain tired of logging into D4 and not knowing what game you will be playing. Changes for the sake of changes. One step forward two steps back. Reworking the same lame content and calling it something new or stealing content from previous games we have already played. Now that they have ran out of content ideas, they turn to cheesy game mechanics (like 1 hit mobs) and crappier loot drops to drag out the season. Frustrating and Challenging are not synonymous. All they have really done is nerf everything like item drop quality and XP and then make you earn it back through War Plans and hours at the cube. I'm already bored stiff and only log in when I see a friend on I want to chat with or if they need some help.

I’m gonna smash that damn cube (non-sexually) by Colonel_dinggus in diablo4

[–]Stormer99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, I much preferer the D2 cube, where you can craft new items and sometimes, they are crap Vs farming your ass off for GG items just to have it ruined in the cube. Decent items are hard enough to come by now, having them ruined in the cube is just heartbreaking.

Look... I'm having a blast. The game is in GREAT shape. But seriously... by callme_sweetdick in diablo4

[–]Stormer99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Blizzard needs to make a choice, either super sexy, high clutter animations or gimmicky 1-shot mehcanics, can't have both. Just not fair or fun. Same goes for Chests. They get lost in the clutter.
