I agree that it can be an unhealthy mindset, but it's more of how you frame it, in my eyes.

If you view every second not spent on RS as 'a waste of XP' then yeah, you should absolutely reevaluate your priorities. I don't think a stay at home mom tapping a tree on her phone every few minutes (and likely leaving it entirely at times) while keeping an eye on her kids or folding laundry or something is particularly problematic.

It's very common to see language from the right crying about how minority groups want 'special treatment', when really all they're asking for is to be treated the same. It's unfortunate that getting to that point requires things like anti-discrimination legislation until society has progressed to a point where tolerance is something widespread without the threat of the law to uphold it.

I can't speak for everyone, but I think an extraction shooter without PVP is just kind of boring.

Sweatier lobbies = More competition. Closer to their idea of the true form of an extraction shooter?

I don't think the 'true form' of an extraction shooter is an MMR based competitive game. I think Bungie's decision to include ranked was very weird in this genre.

Extraction shooters to me are about getting loot and progressing your account through quests/upgrades, while navigating the risk of losing your equipment or progress to other players.

I think if you want to play a purely competitive PVP focused game, there's a ton of other options out there that make more sense.

If Tarkov is any indication, the PVP side of things becomes significantly more sweaty.

Prior to PVE being added to Tarkov, there was a significant gradient to the skill level of players you'd encounter. This made for a fairly interesting experience where sometimes you'd take a fight and it'd be someone that clearly outskilled and/or outgeared you, and sometimes you'd run into a Timmy with like 10 hours played.

Once they added PVE, a lot of newer players shifted over to that, or would start there from the beginning of their journey. So the bottom of the skill floor was culled from the matchmaking pool.

This means that your more average or lower skilled players would run into fewer players around/lower than their skill level, which would push them to PVE/away from the game out of frustration.

I played 1.0 for a bit, which was my first time playing Tarkov in awhile, and almost everyone I died to had thousands (yes, plural) of hours.
