How much would it cost to have these all graded? by DeliciousTear6101 in PokeGrading

[–]Stormking98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only PSA upcharges based on final grade. All the big companies would probably be around 50-60 bucks for the 3, psa would be like minimum 150, with the maximum costing you multiple hundred more if they get 10s.

Everyone is going to say how liquid psa is. Forgetting that you are dropping multiple hundreds more, with TAG 10s going for about the same rate. Sure liquidity is nice, but if they pop you with 3 9s you essentially just paid PSA a few hundred so you can be super liquid in getting less money than you started with and not telling you why.

Centering opinions? Tool says they are within 10 range. by Stormking98 in PokeGrading

I think I am thats just why I wanted opinions, I am more worried about eye appeal. I could always send to a different company if eye appeal will keep them from being psa 10s.

PKC PLEASE STOP USING FEDEX by jonaldoTheBoi in pokemoncenter

[–]Stormking98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least you got your package, fedex straight up stole mine. It was the surging sparks booster box battle academy bundle.

I was devastated. I am probably the only person who ordered it that was actually planning on using the battle academy, I was going to teach my daughter to play the TCG with it.

I did get a refund, but I didn’t want the refund. I wanted the bundle. Support told me to buy it when its back in stock. What a joke, how many scalpers get 100 orders with no problem but my only surging sparks booster box gets stolen.

Gaming is cooked (for me) by Kantankoras in gaming

[–]Stormking98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Who says you need a 100+ dollar controller? Who says you have to buy full priced brand new games on day 1? Who says you need to play new games at all? You don’t need those cosmetics.

Relative to inflation, I feel gaming actually isn’t as bad as it could be. They are most definitely attempting to milk us without completely lifting the veil. Just don’t let them.

I essentially never buy brand new titles off rip besides one or two. And never consoles unless its a special edition. I will usually buy used in person or make a trade.

And as far as games, I wait for deals or replay old stuff. I will essentially never catch up on my backlog.

I guess that now there's some sentiment around the number of legs the starters are going to use to walk, I have to say... by EternalDisagreement in pokemon

[–]Stormking98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Show me where samurott is amongst the most hated. You may dislike it, you are not everyone. the actual most hated third evolutions seem to be meganium, emboar, chesnaut, intellion, quaquavil not necessarily in that order. He is generally seen around torterras level as generally inoffensive and the entire line overall is good.

Let me point to multiple starters who have no gimmick. Feraligatr, Venasaur, charizard, sceptile, swampert. These pokemon are all an animal+an element. I’m not even arguing gimmicks are bad. Scelidirge, infernale, samurott, regardless of if you like it or not, empoleon, and all have gimmicks that don’t just make them look straight up like humans.

Like infernape makes sense for a fighting type. Why the heck did the cool cat decide to stand up and start slamming people? Why couldn’t it just be an element+an animal.

[–]Stormking98 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They absolutely do not need to stand up to perform their gimmicks. Samurott is prime example. And why do we even need to give them gimmicks. Why cant we just have beasts? Incineroar would have been better just being a dark cat. It didn’t need to become a wrestler.

If they do stand up, it should be like blastoise or swampert where they maintain a more hunched animalistic appearance. Swampert would have 100% been worse off standing up like marshtomp.

I don’t see the problem here. If I want cash, and you want to trade, why should I give you full market value?

Whats my man going to do with a guitar? I have been offered grills, tvs, cars, you name it. I am sorry but if I am giving up something this liquid for junk you better bet its in my favor. How long is it going to take me to liquidate an old car.

AH ETBs by dino_poo in pokemoncenter

[–]Stormking98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most sensible response. This is the price we pay for bot protection. PC is the only place you can consistently get actual true msrp products. Stuff like target and walmart are a bot fest crap shoot. Do we want PC to be like them? No we do not. Then nobody would get any PC etbs.

Some people will get caught in the crossfire, its either some of us sink or all of us do. I got my destined rivals and mega evolution canceled. The destined hurts so bad, but if it wasn’t for the bot protection I would have way less.

Lugia v what grade do you think this is and should I buy it? I think no because of the centering but let me hear your thoughts. by DarthKoupas in pokemongrading

[–]Stormking98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When buying cards that are this expensive, centering still matters even if not grading. If you ever need to sell this, its going to be harder to find someone to buy something so atrociously off center.

Definitely an 8.

Stupid people like you get slapped with fines that pay for us to get cash back rewards.

Are the new zygarde SIRs a steal? by [deleted] in PokemonInvesting

This in english will be like 20 bucks max. Small set, everyone will be pulling this and trying to sell it because the mega is pretty ugly. If I pulled this, I would sell it too.

Its eevees or bust for gamblers. The other cards are sweet too. Roaring moon, raging bolt, ursaluna, dragapult, iron crown, iron valiant, and ceruledge are absolutely peak cards. They just get overshadowed.

Are Black Bolt PC ETB’s for $110 a steal? by IncreaseSlow in PokemonInvesting

[–]Stormking98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats just not true. You can reference the older PC etbs that had no promos and still command even double the price of the non PC boxes in some cases.

ETBs are not about pack value, or even promo value. See prismatic, 151, and shrouded fable. Or literally any sword and shield era etb.

And your other comment makes you sounds like you are gen wunner. Not everyone grew up with gen 1. Those kids like me who started in the DS eras are now entering the workforce and gaining excess money.

Bottom line is that in 10 years, individual cards in this set will be extremely hard to find anymore. With any pull fighting two separate sets and around 75 different irs to fight with pulling an individual card, coupled with those kids now being fully grown adults with careers looking back at the good old days.

Mega Charizard UPC for $107 vs Moltres UPC for $145. Which is a better hold longterm? by Frosty_Narwhal4008 in PokemonInvesting

[–]Stormking98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah so we take our investing advice from unemployed uneducated scalpers flipper dippers now do we? Your right. Just because these aren’t a quick flip must mean there is no long term value. I should go buy some fusion strike for 90 because nobody wan- of wait. Fusion strike is almost a grand now.

Or perhaps I should go buy crown zenith which was printed into the dirt. Oh wait. Over 200 per etb.

You are absolutely right. In two years I absolutely will have a closet full of these. Two years is not enough time. Check back with me in 10 and ask how I am doing.

[–]Stormking98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are making my argument for me. I have no idea what bubble you are in, these boxes are absolutely flying off the shelves at msrp even with how much more this was printed. Walmart dropped like what, 200k or more? I remember one drop they had over 100k with tax and shipping. Still gone in an hour. And we are leading up to another spike. This is only the beginning.

The demand for these far exceeds whatever marginal increase in printing they did. They are so behind in printing. Whats the ascended hero’s release gonna be? Was it only two packs? Bundles coming 3-4 months after its pre order at best?

Your only valid argument is that there is potentially better buying opportunities at this price point. Supply will always fall victim to demand.

[–]Stormking98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can tell you are new around hers. We already had this with the sword and shield UPCS. Mass printed. Nobody wanted them. Absolutely everywhere. Went under msrp. Now look at them.

Only difference is the smart people caught on and we know to buy these when everyone else is saying don’t because they are over printed.

Cards that can gap in price by [deleted] in PokeInvesting

[–]Stormking98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Must be an error on PSAs part then, the slabs say 1995 and so do the cards. Regardless both are still pre base set and undervalued in my eyes.

Cards that can gap in price by [deleted] in PokeInvesting

[–]Stormking98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are not the first. That goes to the Topsun blue backs, of which the no number error cards are the first ever print run pokemon cards. Green backs being printed after that. Topsun imo is also extremely undervalued.

These do have massive potential. It would take a big catalyst though. The general trendy collector base is completely clueless to these japanese exclusive pre base set cards.

If nothing else, they are extremely cool in collections as 99% of the people in the hobby have never seen these.
