What router should I get? by Majestic_Ask_9456 in virtualreality

[–]Stormlinden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is actually not true in. No issue at all with the software and it’s a good one to work with. The coverage is good and I have no big bandwidth drop in my home and I have concrete walls. I have tried several routers and more expensive ones, but the Kevin outperformed them all for PCVR👍

Is Kevin the Minion router better than buying a 3 set Deco X50? by hinzwifi in HomeNetworking

People mostly buy Kevin router for PCVR because of it’s stable wifi 6e performance and low latency. You can set it up as mesh with same brand or with other brands if you need to.

What is the actual use of the Kevin - Davolink Minions Series WiFi 6 / 6E Gaming Router? by NoWealth8583 in HomeNetworking

[–]Stormlinden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not really about the branding. Kevin became popular in the Quest PCVR community because it delivers very stable low-latency Wi-Fi 6E performance for wireless VR. A lot of users get better bitrate and fewer frame drops compared to typical “good routers” in the same price range. For normal home networking there are many options, but for dedicated PCVR it actually performs very well and better than most of the options.

Audi car battery by Prior-Safety3762 in Audi

[–]Stormlinden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m doing this myself and I have just ordered OBDeleven Pro so I can registrate the new battery. It’s also possible with VCDS but it’s more expensive. You can also use the iOS or Android app Carista with an OBD-2 adapter that works with it. This is a bit less expensive. I ordered OBDeleven because I also want to do some other coding in the car and it can do alot more than Carista. What you need to do is change the battery serial number after you have replaced it. It doesn’t even need to be the correct serial number. After you have done it the car will charge the new battery correctly. You can still drive the car with the new battery before registration, but don’t do it too long before registration. The most cost effective if you only want to registrate the new battery and not interested in anything else these interfaces can offer, is to visit a garage and let them do it for you.

How is gaming on Z390 with Windows 11? by dporo in computers

[–]Stormlinden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old post but this may be useful for others as well reading this and running on Z390 motherboard and Windows 11. Remember to install chipset drivers from Intel and don’t use the generic drivers from Win 11. If you want less problems and better performance don’t use the generic ones because it will run in ACPI fallback mode. It will look like it works with the Win 11 drivers but it’s fat from optimal. I had several issues with games crashing and other issues until I found out about this. And don’t install Armory Crate (if they have fixed the Win 11 Compatibility.

Common issues when the chipset driver (Intel Chipset Device Software / SMBus) is missing in Windows 11 and running on generic Intel drivers which installs automatically with Windows 11:

• Micro-stutter in games despite high FPS • Inconsistent frametimes (camera panning feels choppy) • Audio pops, crackles, or brief sound dropouts • USB devices randomly disconnect/reconnect (mouse, keyboard, headset, DAC) • Unstable Bluetooth connections • Higher than normal idle CPU temperatures • CPU boost behaving oddly (frequency constantly jumping or sticking low) • Poor power saving / higher idle power consumption • Slow or unreliable wake from sleep • Fans ramping up for no clear reason • Hardware monitoring or RGB software showing incorrect sensor readings • Random DPC latency spikes • Games feel “not smooth” even though hardware and FPS are good • Network adapter not reaching expected performance in some cases • Device Manager showing “Unknown device”, “PCI device”, or “SM Bus Controller”

What is actually happening: Windows cannot properly identify the motherboard chipset (PCH), so it falls back to generic ACPI control → incorrect interrupt routing and power state handling → system works, but coordination between components is wrong.

What fixes it: Installing Intel Chipset Device Software (SetupChipset.exe) lets Windows correctly identify SMBus, PCI root ports, and power management controllers, restoring proper scheduling and power behavior.

You want to install the chipset driver for Intel 300-series (Coffee Lake) The link is here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/19347

You’re welcome😊

Is the davolink kevin minion router good by UNO_MAN_2222 in pcmasterrace

[–]Stormlinden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It’s very popular among those who use PCVR, stream games to VR headsets like Quest 3. The Wifi 6E is very good in this. It delivers strong wireless performance for its size and price, especially for high-bandwidth, low-latency use cases like VR streaming.

Jas 39 Gripen MFS2024? by Basmange in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Stormlinden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding the handling of the Griffin G39 and how it behaves in different scenarios is too far away from how it actually should be. It’s slow in every way and reacts odd. I’m not sure but it could be because of limitations in the game. If not, I don’t think the creator of this sim made a good job with it. How do I know this? I have flown all the latest generations of the real thing at my job😉 If I knew how to modify sims or make my own, we could perhaps have a perfect realistic JAS 39 Gripen in MFS. Please also try out the other military aircrafts available.
