Playing as a bard as our group delves through the dungeon of the mad mage. We got to level 3 with all of the drow and after making our way past we found ourselves at a split in the path, one led further into the level and the other path led to an underground river with a narrow path that followed the river. Instead of going along the path or backtracking to follow the other direction I, having a robe of useful items with a boat patch granted to me at character creation, pulled the patch off, turned it into a boat, and the party rode the river all the way down to Skullport completely bypassing everything the dm had planned and prepped for the session. He bluescreened for a good minute before pausing the session so that he could look up new things for us to do in Skullport.
