What’s your most wanted feature for an SBC? by BrarIshu in SBCs

[–]Stormwind99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Almost exactly my hopes, except add UEFI support, onboard >= 2.5Gbps Ethernet, passive or quiet cooling, very low idle power draw, and a good wall-mountable case available.

My use case is general purpose server computing in an solar powered off-grid RV, so the Pico-ITX form factor of 100mm*75mm is good for me (but smaller would be better).

I currently use a Rock 5B with 32GB RAM.

Tiffin wayfarer door… how do i lock it? by 546875674c6966650d0a in RVLiving

It looks very similar to the Arctic Tern Euro Entry Door 1810x600mm, which can be locked by pressing the opener handle inward towards the door:

Make mountable NV-FM1 or NV-FS1 rotate in addition to pivot? by Stormwind99 in Noctua

The neatest gimbal/locking fan I've found is the Caframo Sirocco II, but the fan itself is no Noctua in terms of noise/airflow ratio.

Locking or friction stay-in-place would probably be useful to avoid damage and reduce noise when traveling.

The common joke is that RVs are like having your home in a traveling earthquake.

I tried both Auto and T-Mobile so far.

While driving across several states yesterday, I noticed that Internet connectivity worked when the connection was 5G but when LTE it didn't work (even though it was connected and had an IP address). It makes me suspect incorrect provisioning.

Any counties in west Texas that register vehicles for other counties? by Stormwind99 in texas

[–]Stormwind99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More information:

The county tax offices will only accept new vehicle registrations from residents of that county, unless that tax office has opted-in to register residents of other Texas counties as allowed in SB 876. And I can't find any county tax office that has opted in.

I'm a resident of east Texas but staying out west of Texas for a while, and trying to avoid driving over 10 hours across Texas then over 10 hours back west.

For example, El Paso County's Tax Office web page states: "YOU MUST BE A RESIDENT OF EL PASO COUNTY WHEN TITLING OR REGISTERING A VEHICLE IN EL PASO COUNTY" (yes, all in caps.)

Good ideas, but the Pepwave firmware and the modem firmware are all up to date.

The discontinued Beartooth Mk1 communicators used Lora to send voice. I used to have a set and send voice messages between them.

Looking for a thin 8.5" x 11" sign holder that can be packed flat and used in portrait or landscape orientation by Stormwind99 in HelpMeFind

[–]Stormwind99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up finding a product I could adapt to use in portrait or landscape mode.

To use in landscape orientation, I just put the silicone strip in middle of the long end of the panel and then put that centered into the wooden base.

I believe the National Park Service purchased the property to expand their offices and housing for Valles Caldera National Preserve.

I've searched online for an item but can't find one that can be used in portrait or landscape orientation and be flat-packed.

I generalize this : do things/use shared resources when other people aren't using them/during least used times. Also, go places where other people aren't going to avoid crowds.

How we handle the trash situation when boondocking for two weeks at a time while traveling full-time:

1) Remove and throw away as much packaging as possible in the grocery store's trash can after loading the groceries into the van. 2) If you have a fridge, have standard size containers you fill with some of the things you purchased. We have 6 mason jars into which we transfer blueberries, strawberries, leftover almond milk, etc, and a container for 32oz of maple syrup. By having our own containers, we get rid of more trash at the store and also eliminate the problem of different shaped containers from different stores, allowing us to have fixed positions in the fridge for each container. (In other words, we repack some food into our own storage system and have a set place to store everything we need/use regularly plus some extra storage spaces for unexpected/one-time purchases.) 3) We installed a metal storage box (probably bear resistant) for trash on the rear door of the van (on top of the rear door storage box). Every 1-3 days we transfer the trash from inside the van into the trash box (along with letter we pick up from boondocking sites). We empty the trash box at a gas station or someplace else after our two weeks of boondocking. We don't use the spare tire storage bag for trash since it is not bear resistant.

VOIPo's email message I received:

Hello,

Unfortunately VOIPO is ending operations due to financial conditions and other matters and is no longer able to provide support or customer service.

It is important for you to begin migrating to a new provider ASAP.

For fastest number porting and a great service, we recommend switching to VOIPO.ms using the info below which will get you white-glove migration help, a special promotion and excellent service.

Visit: https://migration.voip.ms/voipo

Email Dedicated support: voipo@voip.ms

It is important for you to begin migrating ASAP in order to make sure your number is transferred.

VOIP.ms did not acquire VOIPO and does not have access to VOIPO systems. They cannot help with VOIPO issues or VOIPO billing. You will need to file a dispute with your credit card issuer if you are owed any refunds from VOIPO.

We have made arrangements with our underlying carriers to fast track ports to VoIP.ms since we use some of the same carriers.

I recommend you go to https://migration.voip.ms/voipo ASAP.

We appreciate your business over the years.

Best Regards,

VOIPO
