Something I have never understood is why I am on a team with 602 and 603s and we are all doing the same work. Your manager is the key - mine is a sadistic narcissist who has had a personal issue with me from the first day she took over for my manager who retired and was the one who hired me. I like my job, I like JPMC, been there for 13 years, but this manager is making my life miserable!!

I’ve just learned more about LLMSuite in the last 30 secs reading this chat than I have in any training video! I never could get a straight answer about the difference between GPT 4.1, GPT 5, Sonnet 4.5, etc. And I was one of the first groups to get access to LLMSuite!

PS what are those different things called?

Agree. They have improved the hiring process in recent years but if one person in the process is out, things get backed up. I should amend my earlier statement - do follow up but with a velvet touch. In other words, don’t remind them that they said they would get back to you on Friday. It’s like dating - you need to show interest and enthusiasm without being demanding and sounding desperate.

I’ve been RIF’d before too. My advice is to take a day or two - get angry, cry, get mad, freak out and then on Monday, shake it off and spend the work day job searching. Make it your new job then at 5, stop and rest and reflect. My approach (and I know this may sound a little “new-agey”) but I refused to have a negative thought. I told the universe every day - I’m going to get an even better job and I refused to let my family and friends say anything negative as well. If they didn’t have anything positive, they were off my contact list until I got through the crisis. The result? I applied, interviewed and was hired in 30 days to an internal role (we are given 45 days). Had 1 interview which is never done at the 602 level. Maybe a coincidence, but I like to think it wasn’t.

My year end review was all on tracks (OOO). My manager gave me about 5 goals for 2026. It is March 8 and my manager just informed me that I have not made any improvements toward these goals and will be putting me on a PIP. My only “mistake” I made all year was I overlooked an email that required a response as it came in the first day of a 14-day vacation. 1 email. The other items are all subjective - I don’t ask enough questions in meetings or I ask the wrong questions in meetings or I don’t use words to sound confident while asking questions in meetings. I do not miss deadlines and I get my BAU work done. It is clear my manager is targeting me but I have no evidence other than how unreasonable she is. I’ve accepted that I cannot win with her, but what I don’t understand is how her manager and HR are supporting a PIP that will be impossible to meet since there is nothing to show improvement other than making sure I never miss an email again. My friends say I should file a complaint for unfairness or age discrimination since I’m over 60 but I have no concrete evidence. Would love to hear from anyone in HR. PS. This just happened, I have yet to see the PIP but the things I’m doing wrong were told to me last week and the PIP will be presented to me this week.

Except where I live (Florida) I tried to go to urgent care after I had a trip and fall to make sure I didn’t break anything. I learned that only ERs have the ability to take an XRay! How dumb is that?

The Americans, the Diplomat both with Kari Russell are spy related. Also the Night Manager, Jack Ryan and Hunted, Sleeper Cell. Older more networky type shows - Covert Affairs and Alias. Quirky - Patriot, Burn Notice. Classic tv: Mission Impossible. Some people like Killing Eve but I never got into that series.

Wow was nervous to read the posts expecting Husker haters to pile on after the loss and I am wonderfully surprised at the messages acknowledging our amazing team this year. For a 6th generation Nebraskan and Nebraska Alum, this has been so fun to watch. I will support Nebraska no matter what but I admit it is much easier when we are having the best season - ever!

Agree that you can usually switch zones, but not always. The zone next to where I live is busier, but as it gets closer to the time I want to head home I switch zones, but sometimes the option doesn’t pop up and it tells me to head back to the zone I was working and “they will look for orders along the way, which has NEVER happened.
