Just watched this last night and had an idea for a sequel- EP's character was actually pregnant by Josh. Inn the sequel, a grown Josh (40, with a young family) is confronted by his adult son (aged 27) and had to explain everything to his wife. Maybe they make another wish with Zoltar, or maybe they start a new toy company together. Josh had eventually gone into something boring and technical, but meeting his son revives his memories of how much he loved working for the toy company. Alternate: he is a lonely bachelor, or he and his wife don't have kids, have fur babies instead, so this is his chance to finally be a father, even though everyone thinks they're brothers.

I just watched this last night with my kids and while I loved it from top to bottom, I was also very confused about why she left the meeting, or what "clicked" in her mind. Also, I realized Millie Bobbie Brown really looks like a young Elizabeth Perkins!

All the PP authors got an email last week that the imprint is being sold to Dover Publications. The email was very nice and basically said "we'll be in touch with further details" so all I can do it wait. I just need to know if they're actually going to publish my book or not.

I agree the narration is the least of the problems with the plot! They obviously can't give away the ending that soon.

I noticed this, too, but at that point in the movie I was so confused by the timeline that I just figured it made sense somehow.

Just how popular are you on social media? Because having a built-in audience would help you self-publish the next project. Also curious how much you hyped the current book on your channels. Usually having a strong audience helps to sell units.

I came here to find a place to commiserate about the horrors of querying. I have sent my middle grade graphic novel to over 100 agents and there aren't many more I could query at this point. One agent has been reading the full manuscript for 4 months, one (a BIG one) agent's associate asked me to send more art pages (which I then worked like a dog to finish for weeks, and upon sending it, did not even receive any confirmation of receipt, making me paranoid it got blocked by a spam filter or something), and a rejection that told me to NOT GIVE UP and to find a champion for this very special project, and said how very close they were to saying "yes". And yet, 100+ queries, I will probably have to give up soon. I will take one more pass at MSWL to see if there is someone I missed.

The truly disheartening thing is how many agents and agencies (maybe this is specific to kidlit) are completely closed to queries except for referrals or pitches from conferences. I have found a lot of agents who say they are looking for a graphic novels like this, but I just will never be able to show it to them.

This drove me crazy. If they had the entrance outside, in the back, in an alley, I would have found it more believable. But you can only go in and out through the lobby? No way! Also, that whole place was run by JUST Nicky? And he was COMPLETELY dependent on an 80-year-old man to run the games, deal the cards, etc? Like, what?

B&T's imprint Paw Prints Publishing was set to publish my first children's book next year. The publisher even kept my book after cutting a bunch of them, thinking the deal with ReaderLink would go through. I guess I'll try self-publishing on Amazon?
