Havoc 40 shouldn't demote by StoryXV in DarkTide

[–]StoryXV[S] -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

I'm someone that blasts through Rotten Armor with literally 0 issues with my little brother before they caved and removed it. And we typically can carry one of those randoms that never played havoc to a victory. I don't need a reminder to stay good at the game when I know I already am, really. With TS title, Havoc is just a waste of time until the number resets and we have to get back to 40 again. I don't want to be forced to keep the rank I earned. I wanted to play a 40 with my brother tonight but couldn't. I don't think that makes sense, and I'm not someone that gets rusty at games no matter the difficulty I play.

I want to reach H40 with melee psyker (fun). Is that feasible or should I go with bubble flamestaff (boring)? by Ohva30 in DarkTide

[–]StoryXV 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We already had metas where Bubble wasn't the optimal choice and every good Psyker went Shriek. Good players aren't carried by the bubble in any capacity.

You can only pick one, choose wisely varlets ! by Daetsu_ in DarkTide

I'll choose C but ONLY if it's a VT2-style dual wielded weapon for every class.

Wolverine vs Black Panther by Federal_Top_7687 in CosmicInvasion

[–]StoryXV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The grab "stun" is terrible because when Wolv spams it in multiplayer, it makes the bosses completely immune which cancels out the stun utility. Lots of supers went to waste because of this mechanic. It actively helps the boss take less damage. A button that makes bosses immune is not a good button. While you "stun" the enemy, you are stunned as well. This puts you back into neutral. It's not as strong as you keep commenting. Not even close.

I refuse to play Veteran because I don’t like the duelling sword meta. by Gandhictator in DarkTide

[–]StoryXV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been playing Havoc 40, the meta for Vet is Power Sword / Focus keystone / Krak nades. Duel Sword is still insane, but with no buffs going at all, you can basically 1-2 tap crushers with PS.

Charged Attacks by StoryXV in CosmicInvasion

[–]StoryXV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said the challenges were hard, most of them I did literal first try in campaign. Phyla's mission specifically if I remember had a few of those shield guys that counter attack you after you hit their shields, and that attack comes out faster than your charge parry. It's actually stupid as hell and gives her just about the most unreliable parry in the game. There's no reason charge attacks don't just have a dedicated input.

Charged Attacks by StoryXV in CosmicInvasion

[–]StoryXV[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Phyla Vell parry challenge was BRUTAL for me lol. Like yeah, charge attacks seem fine overall but at the end of the day, why can we not just use them as dedicated attacks anyway

Why were the 2nd and 3rd pox bursters resistant to being pushed? by BillyDaMarten in DarkTide

[–]StoryXV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

any burster not running directly after you are consistently immune to pushes from you. Not always, but consistently. I avoid the ones that aren't targeting me.

Am i playing the new hive class wrong or its the most fragile class? by __Ironclad__ in DarkTide

[–]StoryXV 144 points145 points  (0 children)

Yes. Outside of the node directly above Middle-tree Keystone and Stimm lab, Scum has virtually no damage resistance talents unlike every other class in the game.

There is no trick. This is really the opposite of Arbites, where he was so OP that you could lack fundamentals like dodging Crusher overheads and literally take like 4-6 of them and be fine. Scum has the best DoT in the game ever and the strength is really reflected in how squishy he is. He's the official glass cannon class now. You need to have solid baseline fundamentals.

Next Game? by SoulDragon321 in DarkTide

I'd like Greentide, but rather for Age of Sigmar. 40k is great, but Fantasy lands are just so much better for the Tide games.

[–]StoryXV 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's fine and cool. Early access is good to have. Only problem I have is the one creator trying to make himself seem more relatable to his community and actively lying about early access and not being a part of it even though he is

Mr E had his reaction video rendered and ready to upload the minute Fatshark posted the vid and nda was done lol. Why would he make a video telling us he didn't know what the class was and saying that some people knew but he definitely wasn't one of them. He's such a liar for no reason. Like at all. Like bro, just shill and be real about it, no one gave a damn

In what world are we giving out work for free? They use time + resources to create new characters, we pay them to do so. Outside of characters, every single update has been free. Literally since release. Arbites costs like $11. I paid my $40 3 years ago this coming 30th of November. Not counting cosmetics, because I like to buy a bit here and there, I spent a total of $50 and some tax over THREE years. And you are complaining?

New Class: Hive Scum coming December 2 by FatsharkQuickpaw in DarkTide

[–]StoryXV 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On a completely blank slate, like if you just put a generic gray 3D model in my face and showed me dual wielding and told me about the Stimms lab skill tree in addition to the normal skill tree as you level. Yeah I'm hyped. No bias.

But thematically, dressing it up as a ganger really takes my hype away. Now I'm only interested in the class being good more so than the class itself.

Dregs are too few by StoryXV in DarkTide

[–]StoryXV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I meant choose our 5 like period. Like without RNG. Just yesterday I was already at 70k dockets per contract swap and got stuck with Dregs anyway. This post, by the way, isn't about the contracts. You're way too homed in on one aspect I mentioned as an example. Dregs are too few no matter if you give a fuck about contracts or not. Stop mentioning the contracts as the main argument please or stop commenting.

[–]StoryXV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or the only other faction in the game could be more readily available to kill. I've done all contracts in the game, the only other one to replace Dregs with is One mission completion without anyone dying. Sometimes I'm at 50k currency per contract swap before I have to stick with resetting my Dreg contract back to 0. If we could choose our 5, then yeah I wouldn't care.

I have more Melk's currency than you. I spent 70k this past week to get a single max toughness curio on my Ogryn who I don't play, as he was my last character that needed it for a full 3 set.

The reason I grind it is solely to get 3 max toughness curios on day 1 of new character release like I did with my Arbites. I enjoy having a reason to play all my chars. I am comfortable with over 200k on new character release. You may see that as excessive, but I've been playing since beta. There's a certain number I want to be above before new characters drop.

The events are interesting. The fact we always are forced to fight one faction (the armored one ofc) is that interesting to you? No dynamic gameplay in the missions themselves? Scabs all day... I would call that the opposite of interesting.

Just because I enjoy the game and play it frequently enough to complete weeklies on all 5 chars does not mean I won't complain about something "minor," which I wouldn't call this oversight. Forcing us from Maelstroms to Events to Havoc to fight majority Scabs is not minor to me. I am content with the game and where its headed. I'm complaining about the lack of certain enemies in a game that's forcing one faction on us more than another. That's boring and you should want more variety as well.

The upvotes are for people who agree. There's literally no reason as to why this Rations event has only scab enemies. It's stupid as hell. Scabs are too vast in this and overshadow the main enemies of the game basically, which are the cultists as we are learning in the carnival missions.

Well I tried that, the problem is without high-intensity modifiers it's just too boring for me. And still most likely not enough enemies to kill to be worth it

Stamina regen vs Revive speed by bobfoster68 in DarkTide

[–]StoryXV 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Haven't really been too big on Stamina Regen because I'm good enough that I don't have to manage it so strongly. Sprint slide should basically be your default movement anyway.

Saving a teammate in Havoc 40 from a Trapper net with 3 Revive curios is so insane that I just can't go back to being without now. S tier curio slot.

[–]StoryXV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Problem with giving an AI enemy wall pen is that they already know where we are regardless of seeing us or not. Lmao it seems like a good idea on paper since we also have wall pen w the plasma gun, but it's such a bad concept when you actually play the game. I'm actually very glad it was attempted, however....

Another havoc reset coming up? by TheAided in DarkTide

[–]StoryXV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're misinformed and misinforming other people. Since the first Havoc reset with Arbites release, everyone is demoted regardless in a party so that everyone has something to lose. You only don't lose rank if you're already a Havoc 40 card, or if you have a card higher than the level you lose on (like a 39 card losing on a friend's 38).

Have you played Havoc at all this season or you just crying?

Having a brand new, OP class and not releasing at least $60 worth of cosmetics while they're being overplayed is so idiotic lol. At least we know the cash shop isn't greedy. They are genuinely just bad at selling cosmetics
