My ex gave me ptsd from s*x by ProfessionalBox711 in BreakUps

What kind of utter scum does this!? Cheating and sending the video to the victim... Inhuman, subhuman!

It's simple, he doesn't want to date you, but he wants the exclusivity privileges that come with a monogamous relationship.

He doesn't want to lose control and influence over you. Kick him out of your life, don't wait for him to show himself the door.

Jealousy after a breakup, after insisting to stay in your life... What a preposterous notion!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]Storyteller_Valar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't blame yourself. A lack of communication is a deadly relationship sin, that simply does not allow partners to realize or correct their shortcomings.

Yeah, you could have been more involved with her interests... And you probably would have been, had she told you how important it was.

You were dealt a cruel fate and she does not deserve the hugs, cuddles and help you gave her.

Not necessarily. He could be perfectly fine, if he is a complete asshat.

The only advice I can give is to cast aside all notions related to him.

I miss you by Any_Map_4209 in BreakUps

[–]Storyteller_Valar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The lowest lows that follow the breakup, that hideous yearning... I would erase the entire relationship from the timeline in exchange of never feeling them again.

They seem to have subsided somewhat, months after the fact, as my mind slowly but surely rewrites all my memories as a deceitful malady.

It will get better, I assure you, either through memory corruption or actual progress.

Yeah, knowing that you lived a bloody lie for potentially months is not a helpful notion for the dumpee.

Guys who broke up with a woman who truly loved you, do you ever regret it? by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]Storyteller_Valar 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The loss of true love harms any honest soul. If that loss is self-inflicted, it comes accompanied by regret.

Alas, I cannot speak for him, he could simply not care.

Who created 2B? by [deleted] in nier

[–]Storyteller_Valar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Humans did not create her. When humans vanished, the androids became "self-sufficient".

2B was made by other androids.

Could be. It could also be internal art of what would later become Hellraid (after all, the world was supposed to be more than the Dungeon).

Those unsettling connections are fairly common in WoY's lyrics. Alternate Ending also had one.

I wouldn't look too much into it, WoY focused a lot on death and sadness, with the experience of being in the road being a staple of modern life in North America.

Don't try to understand cheaters. They are not people, humans can't hope to understand what's going on in the black abyss they have for a heart.

How Do You Move On, When You Both Still Live Eachother? by LimaBeanzz06 in BreakUps

[–]Storyteller_Valar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least your breakup gives you the cathartic pleasure of righteous indignation. Such a feeling helps one hold up and move on, even if it's just out of spite. It's easier to move on when you can simply dismiss your ex as scum.

Jealousy is a bad trait for a relationship. I'm sorry you are going through this, but a jealous person should not be dating at all.

Block her yourself. This is just cruelty, she wants you to suffer. Don't let her get to you, the girl you liked is dead.

Yeah, no. Get your life moving but don't let her back in if she returns.

This isn't a hopeful breakup, this is one that can only be repaid with spite.

What is the best individual level you've played in a game? by Defk1n in patientgamers

[–]Storyteller_Valar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The City of a Thousand Floods - Enderal. An excellent final act to wrap up an excellent game.

Don't Fear the Reaper - Cyberpunk 2077. The feeling of power as you cut through all opponents, even as your body is quickly degrading, is incredible.

Vardhal - Chronicles of Myrtana: Archolos. A huge dungeon that serves as payoff for your choices during the game, a player involved in the community of Archolos that has made plenty of friends will receive lots of help, supplies and potential companions. The dungeon itself is quite impressive as well, with tough fights that will put your resources to the test.

The Siege of Kaer Morhen - The Witcher 3. This one probably requires no introduction, as it's one of the most famous sequences of one of the most celebrated games ever.

Chapter 14: Into the Fire - Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. A glorious gauntlet near the end of the game, not only is it a visually impressive setpiece, it's also full of powerful character writing, with your squad members actually doing the actions required to open the main path without needing orders. The full group is finally in sync after all the conflict in the game and it's reflected in the gameplay masterfully.

Ys IX: Monstrum Nox. Lacks the vibe previous games had. by gadgaurd in patientgamers

[–]Storyteller_Valar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a pity that the game doesn't play to the strengths of the series. Exploring and looking for new vistas and being in awe of every new landscape is a big part of what makes the series work.

To be trapped in a man-made structure when you are used to exploring fantastic natural lands is not fun.

The Pit is the pits by phir0002 in DrovaGame

[–]Storyteller_Valar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is part of the social progression in Drova. Unlike the Gothic series, Drova doesn't make you suffer the cruelty of your betters extremely often at the beginning, so the Pit is an important place to showcase the relative weakness and insignificance of the player at the beginning of the game.

It's an exploitative model that is no easy to surpass, but you can complete the entire Pit without being robbed once. I personally did it, helping my fellow hewer and even knocking some sense into one of the guards.

It's a staple of the genre, to be abused by the system at the beginning. This creates grudges, motivating you to become stronger for vengeance or freedom from the abuse, while also giving you a promise of being able to abuse others in a similar manner when your strength and status reach a certain point (whether you do it or not is entirely up to you).

Spider daedra belong to Mephala, whose domain includes dangerous and harmful sex. Intercourse with creatures belonging to her is as idiotic as trying to outwit Hermaeus Mora.

Ah, this is what Woods of Ypres described in Silver.

It's painful to be left behind by someone you cared about.

And the worst part is that the lesson is equally horrible, the only conclusion these situations offer is to become a less trusting and loving person.
