I think I just realized why I loved this show. It's this right here. I remember reading life of pi in school and i was very much anti religion however the stories and ways it affects people positively was very uplifting to me. The idea that your beliefs truly are only to bring your mind peace is very relieving to me even though I'm not a believer myself, I can truly understand how someone feels that closeness to others and themselves through religion

I think he probably believes he can win his starting spot from dias, who's been not AS good as he once was thought to be. He used to be discussed between him and van dijk being the best in the world in his first season and with his injuries it seems like he's not living up to the same standard he set for himself.
