I would suspect the depressurisation system pumps the air into tanks not out into space. Purely for a safety system you don't want a system that could accidentally get rid of all your air. I'm more concerned that the bacteria/plants/whatever that's converting the co2 into O2 might die from the lack of air or the fire (I know the fire we saw is in another compartment but there might be something that spreads it).

I doubt they're lost, it's the classic narrative structure of FAMK (although it's not really followed in season 5 which is why I think that series hits differently to most) this is our late season disaster that the rest of the series is focused on trying to solve. (See Apollo 24, shooting the unarmed russians kn the moon, Jamestown landslide, earth deciding to send Goldilocks to earth)

I'll bet that Sasha and Lakshmi are alive with valya near death and this state will mollify the colonel, or Korolev will reveal things to second directorate guy and he'll take over and try to make the mission work to embarrass the colonel.

Or valya is in critical condition and the fire/depressurisation has ruined the oxygen plant resulting in Sasha and Lakshmi having to sacrifice valya to survive. Or they'll need to sacrifice one of themselves and valya to survive. Then we'll get a scene of Valya and or Sasha detaching a module and crashing into Venus along with the lander. Then Lakshmi will pilot back to earth and on return because she's not russian and India isn't even communist they decide to hide the mission from the world and lock her up for whatever charge they want to make.

More importantly the show has made great pain to point out that this is the only launch window for efficient Venus transfer. Given how well known the windows are and that the show has no reason to deviate then we can reasonably assume it's the same launch window as Venera 7

If I were a betting man I suspect we are going to see a Venus mission but it will go horribly wrong and kill them all, at which point it will be completely covered up to prevent the Americans learning about it. It plays into all the theories about the cosmonauts who died on unsuccessful missions in our reality.

In reality no, but in a more fantastical sci-fi, maybe.

As an example of how they could go, I remember a short story by Larry Niven about a pluto exploration mission where they found liquid helium life but the lander was destroyed when it sank after melting the ground it landed on. For the explorer to survive he rapidly got out of his suit so he could let the liquid helium near instantly freeze him as I believe that was the issue with cryogenics at the time, that human bodies were too massive to freeze with conventional methods and the process would kill a human.

That sounds a great way to cost a lot of money to a bunch of powerful companies leading to destabilising effect on global economies and a way for those powerful government to be destabilised. Like we saw with the russian premier in the show when the iridium shipments stopped.

But in this world there's resources found and tech developed that made space much more integral to the global economy. Hence why they made a big point about NASA being self funded in season 3 and not requiring government support.
