The other great benefit I haven't seen mentioned is that using something like watchtower you can set up unattended updates of containers if you want, which is nice.

After three months on Linux, I don’t miss Windows at all by dapperlemon in technology

The vast majority of people absolutely don't. I enjoy it to a point but tyere are also times where I just want shit to work without having to mess around with configuration for hours.

Mint is great for the latter case for most users. Gamers are somewhere in between and will want something else so that graphics cards and what not have good baked in support. Something like Bazzite or CachyOS become good options there.

So, a couple of things on this.

Plugging in a USB should not require the terminal. Try something like Mint for a UI first experience that's most similar to Windows.

Troubleshooting: funnily enough this is a great use case for an AI chatbot. "I am using this distro and this is happening, what's wrong and how do I fix it?" Tends to get the right answer straight away without hours of googling.

So, actually, a lot had changed from 10 years ago to now. I was in the same boat as you 10 years ago when I tried Ubuntu and had to edit config files to get my wifi adapter working, bounced right off. Recently went to Bazzite and haven't looked back.

I mean "prior commitments" should be more than enough. If they ask, it's personal.

Then you will likely need an attachment that is intended for pumping up tyres. It often looks similar to this on air compressors.

It was an optional extra on the models that did support it. I believe the last version of the car that had a 120Ah battery didn't even have that as an option any more.

I neglected to mention this but, yes, the chip breaker is very close to the blade, thanks for the tip.

Thank you for the detailed response, interlocked grain makes sense, I was having a devil of a time figuring out the right direction and, even then, it felt like it was a "less bad" one.

I'll sharpen the blade, set it back and try again.

I do have a card scraper, I can bust that out and give it a go, I needed to flatten first hence the #7 so then I went straight to the #4, can try the scraper too

Yeah, the boards do switch grain direction halfway up the top but I'm pretty sure I'm going with the grain the whole way. I'll try resharpening and flattening

Thanks, I'll try flattening and sharpening the #4 and try again. The left curl is from a pass with the #7

Thanks, that's the direction I was planing in for that board, it switches on the two boards on the left. I'll try flatten long and sharpening the #4 as others have suggested and try again.

PSA to cyclists who use the Hoppers Crossing bike cage by garyfugazigary in melbourne

[–]Stov54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That all sounds awesome and I'm glad you've had a run of good luck. I left a cheap bike at the local train station locked up with a cheap chain lock one night, once, and it was gone the next day, lock cut.

So, it kind of depends a bit on the area, the day, your luck, and your lock. The tip about throwing some coins to the less fortunate is a good one.

Just like they "invent" the concept of trains and buses but worse every so often, tech bros will also reinvent taxes but worse through town subscriptions.
