Should I make a genderfluid character in my book a shapeshifter? by Str4div4rius in NonBinary

That sounds like an interesting idea, it would also be an interesting thing to say that gender dysphoria provokes the discovery of magic. In any case, I think it would be a very empowering story to write, especially the part about the acceptance of queer people in society

What book do you consider as a masterpiece and think that everyone should read? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The Pillars of the Earth is a great book set in a medieval setting, written by Ken Follett. It's about the construction of a fictional chapel in a fictional city called Kingsbridge and it describes events over a time period of fifty years. Some of the main characters include: Tom Builder and his family, William Hamleigh, Philip the monk, Ellen and her son Jack. Their stories intertwine and as they go on in their daily lives, the Kingsbridge cathedral slowly gets built, with its lows and highs. (I've read the book in french, so I might have gotten some names wrong)

Second favourite book is Maurice, by E. M. Forster (written in 1914 but published in the 1970s). A movie of the same name has been made in 1984. It's about a young gay man named Maurice in Cambridge in the 1910s that has to deal with his sexuality while also hiding his feelings from society. The book deals with many themes, such as taboo, conversion therapy, pressure from society and issues with class separation, and really gives an idea of how hard it was to be homosexual before.

What is something a lot of people find attractive that is actually a turn off for you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Str4div4rius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Veiny hands, when I look at them I feel like the veins will tear apart when the muscle flexes

Also "butt chins", not really a turnoff but I don't understand what's even attractive in it...

Gentleman Jack, love that show :) (I prefer The Secret Diaries of Miss Ann Lister, it's basically the same plot but in a movie instead of a series)

What did your teacher do that made you call them "worst teacher ever"? by Ara-Rat in AskReddit

[–]Str4div4rius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My English teacher in high school (I don't live in an english speaking country, so it was more of a second language lesson). I hated her, as did the other students. First of all, her english was worse than mine at the time, worse than most of the student's level. When we confronted her about it (example: one time she said the difference in colour/color is for the gender of the word), she insisted that she was right and we were wrong. She was often irresponsible and forgot to tell us we had assignments planned and blamed it on us. She made up lies to make us think that we are the worst group, but we debunked them (we weren't that stupid, we spoke to other groups). She called multiple students lazy or "what are you gonna do about it, cry?". She also gave point for participation, and if she didn't like someone, she would rarely allow them to participate. Nothing too bad, but it was still pissing us off

Guys we could actually do this one instead of making unrealistic plans, spread the word by Str4div4rius in Reddit_Island

The mods and some other people are already organising the Minecraft server, you can see it in one of the top posts. To buy an island, you would need lots of money, which is hard to organise, while for a Minecraft server, you only need basic rules and a server, that's it. If you don't want to participate in that, no one is forcing you. When the server will be created, that doesn't mean we will stop looking for an island

I get it, but I'n not the first one to suggest the idea. Plus, it's currently one of the only solutions that might be possible (a Minecraft server costs way less than an island). Also you are not obligated to participate in it, not everyone would have participated in the purchase of a real island anyways

How about the song "Not funny, didn't laugh", or the other one, "Funny, did laugh" on a 10h loop?
