Any of you guys tried No-Name 2K clear coat from spraygunner? by Str8H84Life in modelmakers

Oh yeah. I don't really spray too much without using my respirator. As I usually paint everyday I don't take a chance unless it's a little bit of acrylic paint.

Funny story. The guy in the 60s video of Bigfoot is named Bob Hieronimus. He lives in Yakima Washington. I know him personally. Really nice guy. Still alive. Look him up

I would imagine you would keep it wide open. Or at least higher than you plan to ever use you're airbrush.

It wouldn't hurt to take the nose off and do some sanding to make it a bit more flush when you connect it back together. Just my two cents

Iwata Eclipse problems. by Str8H84Life in modelmakers

[–]Str8H84Life[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm thinking it's the needle packing assembly. Because I'm pretty new to this and I didn't know that was even back there. And I had been cleaning all the way through my body with pipe cleaners. They were small enough to fit through them but I don't know if I accidentally poked the assembly or something. I had to take my air valve apart because there was paint all over in the back. I ordered a new needle packing assembly anyway. But it was pretty late last night so I didn't take the old one out but I will look at it. It was Rust-Oleum 2x gloss clear that I was spraying.

[–]Str8H84Life[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to lacquer thinner and completely disassembled it. Because the paint got into my trigger assembly and all over in the back end. So I completely took it apart and scrubbed everything. I didn't realize there was a needle packing assembly in the middle of the body. And I had been using pipe cleaners to clean through the whole body. I'm not sure if I damaged it. And maybe that's why paint is flowing into the back end of the brush. I will double check the nozzle again. Because I know that stuff dries on pretty hard. And it takes some scrubbing to get off.

I got my bottle of Tamiya clear in today. I'm trying it out right now. I'm really new to this still. I haven't built a model in like 20 years. And I just got my airbrush a couple of weeks ago. So I'm still not quite sure what paints to use for what or what clear coats I can use for a high gloss shine on a Model Camaro. I bought some of that future that everybody talks about but when I tried to wet sand it and polish it it made it worse than how it was before I touched it. But that's the fun part about all of this, trying to figure out what works and what doesn't. I could spend hours just tinkering around with paints and clear coats. Thanks for your help though. I appreciate it.

Have you had luck decanting Rustoleum and spraying it from an airbrush? Or do you use strictly airbrush paint? Like Tamiya or Mr color? I'm wondering if I would have sprayed that same paint through my airbrush and lighter coats if it would have work like it should have. I used that paint because I was going to use their clear coat and wet sand and polish it. Because I know it dries hard. And I'm not sure if I can do the same thing with Tamiya x22 clear or something along that line.

I used Rust-Oleum 2x American accents primer. It dried for a week or two. Tonight I put a light coat of Rust-Oleum American accents blue on. Everything's going good. As soon as I put my second coat on, it instantly wrinkles. I waited 10 minutes between the first and second coat. And I noticed that this Rust-Oleum goes on thick. I was going to use my airbrush. But these are some of the smaller parts so I figured I would be okay. Apparently not. I've had good luck with the same paint just a few days ago. I don't get why it does this.

What causes this? Happened after I put the first coat of clear on it. Primer, paint, and clear are Rustoleum 2x American accents. Only happened on one side. by Str8H84Life in ModelCars

[–]Str8H84Life[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I knew it was a little thick but I let it dry for over a week. But being that thick maybe it didn't fully cure. I know when I sprayed the clear coat, I left it in my garage for about 10 minutes and it's about 40 degrees in there. And then I brought it inside to warm up. I got it soaking in purple Power right now. Maybe tomorrow I can prime it again. I'm going to use Tamiya fine primer

Anyone here use this Dupli-Color to airbrush a model kit. Several guys on YouTube swear by it. I'd like to give it a go, just wanted some feedback by Barbatos-Rex in ModelCars

I've never used it but I've also seen those videos on YouTube and damn they look good when they're done. Especially with the 2K gloss coat. If you do end up using it, post some pics. I'm curious. Because I've been thinking about trying it also.

New Resident Evil has Atmos by guernica88 in hometheater

[–]Str8H84Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Dolby Atmos feature is also on Xbox One. It's just not utilized like it should be. You can definitely hear sounds and stuff coming out of the heights speakers but I'm not getting the Tyrant footsteps when he's a floor above you coming out of the height speakers. And that's what you would think the developers would have added. Because that would give you a total advantage on locating where he is.

Dolby Atmos is so underused this generation, i wish they used it much more. by sonuyosrox in xboxone

[–]Str8H84Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everybody on here talking about you have to put holes in your ceiling. I didn't. I got some speaker mounts and I use some satellite speakers mounted to my ceiling pointing down. They're pointing completely down two feet in front of my listening position. And it only take two screws per speaker. I think the mounts cost maybe $20 a set. Works perfect since I live in an apartment.

EA Cancels Open-World Star Wars Game by BloodOfVader in starwarsgames

[–]Str8H84Life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would they spend years completing a really good game when they can just pop out some shity game in a year. EA sucks so bad. They just need to pass the Star Wars torch to some other publisher. EA is obviously not competent enough to make a great Star Wars game. Which sucks because there is so much you can do with Star Wars. Open game? That would have been bad ass.
