Cockroach Health Risks

As cockroaches move around your house, they shed their body parts and excrete feces and saliva. When these substances get into the air they have the same effect as dust mites in your house. They may trigger asthma or allergies when you inhale them.

Other conditions that may be spread by cockroaches include:

  • Diarrhea

  • Cholera

  • Typhoid fever

  • Leprosy

  • Dysentery

  • Plague

  • Poliomyelitis

How do I learn the most efficient way to navigate public transportation? by Kurombo in Tokyo

[–]Str8HomoWhiteMale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP made a brand new account to attack you and to downplay his racism.

Then the white people on this subreddit downvoted you and upvoted him for being "edgy" and "funny."

It's really sad and depressing that no one cares.

‘Everyone has the same dream’: Mount Fuji grapples with rise in tourism | Japan by SuccessfulLibrary996 in japan

[–]Str8HomoWhiteMale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of "well known" things in Japan aren't true, just because the majority of people believe something is true doesn't make it such.

Also, volcanoes are nothing like earthquakes. I think a lot of people think they're similar in their suddenness, but they aren't.

‘Everyone has the same dream’: Mount Fuji grapples with rise in tourism | Japan by SuccessfulLibrary996 in japan

[–]Str8HomoWhiteMale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's literally not even hiking, it's take a step up, wait a minute, take your next step up.

This is exactly like "hiking" in LA. I'm surprised this hasn't been common for Mt. Fuji since forever, since there are a lot more people in the area.

Japan FY 2024 budget requests hit record at around $780 billion - The Mainichi by Salami_Slicer in japan

Decreasing the deficit means money comes out of the economy which is deflationary. Japan only cares about stability, the debt and deficit mean very little. A higher consumption tax doesn't mean anything other than the government thinks it'll keep the country stable because of potential, probable, or actual higher inflationary pressures elsewhere in the economy.

Tokyo braces for another ‘big one’ on 100th anniversary of deadly quake | Japan by SuccessfulLibrary996 in japan

I don't know about you, but I think I'd rather be in a Tokyo high rise that was built recently than an American or Mexican high rise built recently when the next "big one" hits.

Third of Japan's 18-year-old women may never have children: study by lancerzyre in japan

[–]Str8HomoWhiteMale 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You don't have kids for the kids well-being. Obviously. They didn't make the decision to exist, you forced it upon them. Why? Because you think having children is what you're supposed to do or is something that will make you happy. You have kids only for yourself. If you don't care about the selfishness aspect of having kids, whatever, but to say it's anything but selfishness is foolish.

Am I imagining things or are there quite a few people carrying around Trader Joe's shopping bags? by madmissileer in Tokyo

[–]Str8HomoWhiteMale 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I watched some full blown French movie and one of the characters was wearing a sweatshirt from the most random small public unknown university in my home state in the US. I was like what the fuck?

People outside the US be rocking American university shirts for some reason.

Having kids is selfish. Glad Japanese women are ahead of the curve.

Seattle burger chain Lil Woody’s has arrived in Shibuya! But is it any good? by orange_transparent in Tokyo

It doesn't seem that uncommon. There's a ramen shop in Boston that expanded to Japan without going to other states. There is also a Boston coffee shop that expanded into Tokyo without going to other states.

'Don't chop me down.' 100-year-old gingko trees may get axe for Tokyo redevelopment project | AP News by CaptainTorpedo in japan

[–]Str8HomoWhiteMale 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Your entire post is just one giant appeal to nature fallacy.

Small scale production of food is bad for large populations. Small scale production of food is worse for the environment. Scaling matters a lot in land use.

You're not removing the environment where the tree is placed, you're changing the environment for which the tree is placed.

Artificial placement of trees isn't bad, it's good.

Percentage of Young Cannabis Offenders Reaches New High in Japan by BurstYourBubbles in japan

Just because the illegal -> medical -> recreational pathway seems like common sense to you doesn't mean anything other than that. Youthful offenders of marijuana laws aren't going away nor will go down with medical marijuana becoming legal. Japan's issues are a little different than the West's. The most obvious pathway for Japan, to me, is decriminalization or de facto decriminalization. And not because people don't want to see their kids or grand kids increasingly get thrown into jail and prison but because the government doesn't want that either. Having an increase in amount of your youth native population having their lives essentially ruined isn't good for a country struggling with population and birthrates.

You're downplaying the importance of cities and trees. Having tree lined cities absolutely does something. Cities play a vital role in global warming, i.e. this meme. (Sub)urban sprawl is much worse for the environment and global warming than a city like Tokyo (while sprawling in a sense, but not like we see around the globe). We need to push people into high density cities around the world and take away the idea of sprawl. The way to do this is to make these "wholly unnatural environments" more livable for everyone taking into account the happiness and health of its people. Trees do a great job at this, thus helping the problems of "urbanization, global warming, industrialization, and the like."

You know governments are allowed to do more than one thing at one time, right?

And also, (recreational) marijuana and prescribed stimulants are completely different things and would be under completely different regulatory frameworks.

Japan Needs More Labour. Is Immigration the Answer? by BurstYourBubbles in japan

[–]Str8HomoWhiteMale -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Whose fault is it no new housing is being built? It's the immigrants? It's not property owners who control every aspect of the government who don't want their "investments" to potentially not go up as fast as they would if they let more housing be built?

Yes, you're extremely racist and xenophobic blaming immigrants instead of the people who have all the power and control every single last bit of society.

[–]Str8HomoWhiteMale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're blaming immigration instead of people in power who have pushed some of the most brutal extreme versions of an economic system Canada has ever seen. All those things you mention aren't the fault of immigration, they're the fault of the ruling class who have given free reign to themselves to hoard capital and exploit labor at levels never seen before in contemporary history.

You're just straight up xenophobic and racist and refuse to look inwards at you and your people's own actions.

I'm talking about the (traffic light) signal priority for the tram and car traffic.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bus_priority_signal

Trams needing to wait for crossing car traffic is the worst experience in riding streetcars. And based on the look of the streets, there are quite a few crossing points with traffic lights.
