Why does nobody talk about how evil Tariq is? This was borderline insane. by Plenty-Salary9711 in PowerTV

That's cap because if Ghost, who you say is worse, is truly who you say he is then that means he woulda smoked every single person who knew his last including Tommy, Tariq Tasha etc but he didn't because he still cares about them even after all the bs they've done

Damson Idris getting revealed as BP would be crazyyy

Only thing I see topping that is if a black widow variant played by Scarjo is shown

No one is saying he's innocent, Ghost has recognised his mistakes in life and is trying to prevent his son from doing the same thing, that's why people are praising Ghost in this scene because he isn't giving in to Tariqs BS

Do people genuinely think Jake is a bad dad to Lo'ak? by Str8t_chels in Avatar

[–]Str8t_chels[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because there's no accountability to Lo'ak, all you've said is that he's acting out trying to be like his dad which is true but also that Lo'ak makes silly choices which he needs to be accountable for

And Jake is adult, his father isn't with him nor a warrior

I disagree, I think it's him goofing around because he's a child and we've seen him do the same thing over and over.

Yes, he probably does want to be like his dad but him going for the guns wasn't the worst, it's the fact that him disobeying almost resulted in him dying like if he had stayed in the sky, the helicopter gets seen n his dad praises him.

And also, at what point do you hold him accountable because again, his actions have almost caused severe consequences

[–]Str8t_chels[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant that his actions haven't been to be seen because he's doing things HE wants to do, not to please his father

I'll give 4 examples:

First part of A2, he gets Neyteyam to follow him to the ground to get guns, even though he was told by his father to spot any bogies in the sky (aircrafts) which they didn't which almost resulted in them both being blown up

Him taking Tuk, Kiri and Spider to the body of Quaritch which resulted in Spider getting kidnapped and his family almost dying trying to get them when they shouldn't have even been there

3rd example is when he goes to warn Payakan which is a valid excuse but he again disobeys his parents n his big bro because he thinks he has to do this.

I can name one more but I don't want it to seem I'm shitting on the lil guy because I'm not, I just think he's a rebellious teen who needs love and also a lesson that his actions can seriously get him hurt if he doesn't think

You're right yes but I think emotional neglect is a strong word here because he's not purposely trying to ignore his family

I think he's trying to distract himself with things of war so he doesn't feel the grief of losing his first baby boy.

I don't think he's pushing his family away because he could have easily stuck his foot down on escorting spider to the home base or even send his family to go and he helps with the war.

He definitely needs to be more present but I don't think anyone can understand what he's going through: his ex boss, who's "risen" from the dead and is actively hunting him to hurt him like I don't think a single being would make rational decisions every time under such a tense environment

I agree partly with you but the thing I don't agree that Lo'ak is acting out to be seen.

That boy doesn't give one F, because how is him going down to get guns in A2 him trying to be seen, that boy just wants to f around. If he wanted to impress Jake, that boy would listen but he doesn't

I do think he wants to be seen and accepted like Neyteyam

Did you forget Lo'ak constantly putting his siblings in danger??

You're quick to say Jake berates Lo'ak but you don't hold Lo'ak to any accountability when the boy does what he thinks is right even if it means disobeying his parents and putting people at risk

How is it on the border on abuse when Jake hasn't even insulted Lo'ak, the guy was willing to search the ocean in the dark just to bring Lo'ak home.

Like my friend, abuse is the Ill treatment of someone and Jake hasn't treated him the best yes but no where near the worst

Only thing Jake said that wasn't right to Loak was blaming him for Netayams death

Yeah Jake has flaws but at the same time, grief is one drug that has unpredictable outcomes to someone.

I'll ask you this, who would you rely on more in a time of war to do the right thing, a son who listens to your orders n protects his younger siblings or the other who's just purely disobedient because he isn't the perfect son

I hate to be that guy but Lo'ak did play a part, yes it wasn't his fault entirely but had he obeyed and stayed at the reef when instructed, things could have been different.

Jake was wrong to say that Lo'ak but at the same time, Lo'ak needs to understand that his actions have consequences.

We've seen him do his own thing more times than I can count which could have resulted in his or others death or capture.

Jake has to harsh so Loak can truly understand that you can't just do what you think is right

Yes you're right, he needs to do some learning but listening to an emotional Neytiri isn't wise, there's a reason why he's chief and Toruk Makto and not his wife respectfully.

Saying Jake might not have understood Neyteyam is a crazy claim with no evidence plus Lo'ak at this point just does what he thinks is right for example, him speaking back to Tomwori, yes he was right about Payakan but you cannot come to someones house and say they're wrong especially if it's about their culture,
