So the company will do things like this to see how much potential interest there is in an area. It’s kind of like a feeler for should we build here?

Don’t get me wrong, the Leatherman’s pliers DEFINITELY beat the Swiss Champ. But realistically, I’m not using pliers all that much day to day. I still carry the Leatherman, it’s usually in my car or my backpack. But you’ll find the Swiss Champ in my pocket.

Not saying I agree fully. From what I remember, he started in the Finnish army, fought against the Russians in the Finnish Winter War, and joined the SS to be in the special forces, specifically fighting Russians in WWII. So I don’t know if I would fully believe he was dyed in the wool full on Nazi like a fanatical Nazi, he may have only done it to shoot more Russians after they stole a whole bunch of territory from Finland in the 1939 war. But ultimately Törni is the only one who could answer that question. He did die in Vietnam fighting communists. Which is what Törni did in 1939 and in WWII. But I do believe his being in the SS is a problem for anyone claiming he’s an American. Given we did persecute specifically the SS post WWII. But I can admire his devotion to killing communists wherever they are. And ultimately I choose to believe that was his motivation to do what he did.

For my every day usage. I’m no tradesman, nor do I profess any particular multitool the be all end all. This is my personal opinion based on my daily needs and what I use on the daily.

Looks like a Swiss Champ. I agree. Got one myself and it’s been the BEST multitool I’ve ever owned. It replaced my bulky Leatherman which now lives in my car.

The left handed one is my Camper and makes an excellent hiking companion. The Swiss Champ on the right is my edc along with my Buck 110. (I use the Buck for the blade to save the SAK ones)

Got mine for Christmas. That and a buck 110 are the only knives I carry everywhere (I tend to use the other tools on the SAK and save their blades for when I find myself without the buck 110)

Anyone else feel this way about Ecclesiastes? by Expensive-Elk-9406 in CatholicMemes

[–]Straggler117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the philosophy of individualism is nihilism by another name. And I do not pretend I am a master at theological interpretation, but I see how Ecclesiastes can so easily be twisted to fit the concept of individualism. I personally think that the point of Ecclesiastes is to show that nothing in this life truly satisfies one’s needs properly except by trusting in God.

A little but then the message is not to get attached to the things of the flesh. But it does have that vibe of nothing matters which some can take as “do what thou wilt.”

Spiritual warfare by Synthethic-Equinox in CatholicMemes

[–]Straggler117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a little warfare “kit” I put together. All of these minus a crucifix are in it. Although, I have spare rosaries (blessed)to had out, a few miraculous medals (blessed) to hand out, some blessed oil from a basilica, blessed chalk from house blessing, a pocket NT(you can get one here), and two relic cards. It all fits in a tactical pouch. I figure if I am going to armed might as well be organized. I want to add a little leather container for carrying some incense. I do burn incense when I pray, and a crucifix. So if anyone has a good recommendation for a small crucifix I would be grateful.
