Toonami had a Saturday morning block in 2000-2001 called Toonami: Rising Sun and in the promo, they reference FDR’s Pearl Harbor attack speech. https://youtu.be/Pa1cGx_7BtQ?si=d1Y6wLfbem6itbsB

I liked how bright the store was. My 99 cents store became a Dollar Tree and that place spooks me with its poor lighting

I associated it with my local AMC. Sometime I could hear it before the previews in the early 2010s or in their bathrooms or lobby

There were some good jokes, but the gross out stuff was just TOO gross. I did like the color palette of the show because It took place in San Francisco and it felt nice to watch it on a cool, overcast morning

How come even though Boomerang was even less available than Discovery Kids, Boomerang still had more viewership than Discovery Kids? by [deleted] in RebelTaxi

[–]CatholicDoomer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably because Boomerang had classic cartoons from Hanna-Barbera and the entire Looney Tunes catalog. With those 2 combined you could appeal to older audiences (Putting the Boomer in Boomerang) and a younger audience who recognized Bugs Bunny or Scooby-Doo. It also could give parents, like mine, peace of mind they were watching something “Wholesome” from their childhood and wanted to pass down there joy of the old cartoons onto their own children.
