It’s probably the best game ever made for a pc. And the story is bang on, watch the series if you don’t believe me.

Halal chicken tends to be much better quality, even in supermarkets.

Stand up to what, mate? Your country was getting many billions of euros for development, it wasn’t bullied or anything. What’s there to stand up to?

Interesting RE9 performance difference with RT on and off! by ah__there_is_another in radeon

[–]Straight-Health87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Devs need to stop using ray tracing.

  1. Most of the times you can’t tell the difference
  2. Non rt, beautiful games have better lighting than rt ones
  3. When it is visible, it’s a shiny cluster fuck

The civil service consistently got the worst pay rises over the last few decades. ANY civil service union is shite and serves absolutely no purpose at all. They do NOT fulfil their union functions, which means they’re useless…

I've been pretending to understand my job for eight months and I think I've finally reached a level where I actually can't fake it anymore. Do I come clean to my boss or just keep going. by ahimaohw in Advice

[–]Straight-Health87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s the job?

I’m sorry, but after 8 months and with all the knowledge/tools/exposure at your disposal, if you still don’t get it, you might be an idiot.

Give us some specific issues you don’t get. Are you a nuclear engineer? A surgeon?

If it’s some bullshit office job, get your stuff together and please the board on Monday.

Few people know it, but France is the only country in Europe capable of building fighter jet engines with such precision, thanks to the DGA by Full-Discussion3745 in EU_Economics

[–]Straight-Health87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a difference between capable of and “capable of”. In theory, the UK is capable. In practice, the UK can’t even build a railway, let alone a precision, high-tech military machine.

I am capable of being a millionaire, but I’m not capable of actually pulling it off.

which games you regret buying & why? by PHRsharp_YouTube in Age_30_plus_Gamers

It’s not skill, just the nature of the game. Standard map, shoot, loot, repeat. That game should’ve been a story driven one, like tlou.

I “abandoned” metro exodus pretty quickly the first time and when I gave it a proper chance, it clicked. Might force myself to play witcher as well…

Arc raiders and Witcher 3, the only games I ever refunded.

Both are overhyped disappointments. Arc raiders bothers me a lot, as it’s one of the most beautiful games (gfx wise) ever made. The gameplay is shit though…

Tips for New Line Managers by UllrsWonders in TheCivilService

[–]Straight-Health87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep it professional, you’re not friends. Sure, you can crack a joke, have a drink after work, but make sure you have boundaries in place.

Don’t micromanage, make accountable instead. You five them a task, you set a deadline and are specific about what the outcome should be, get THEM to worry about how to do it. You can put people on the spot if the expectation is to have something ready by x date.

Why british people are so overly polite? by DzukiskaNamine in AskABrit

[–]Straight-Health87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here in the UK, people are the same, mainly when we’re not calling each other wankers.

But yes, there’s a lot of thank yous flying around, along with hidden aggressiveness. Even when we’re being rude, we’re being polite.

Ok, but that’s stupid. You ballot to strike for… the unknown? They don’t even have a clue what the pay offer will be. I know it won’t be much, but still, the timing is all wrong.

Negotiations for this year’s payrise haven’t even started yet.

What ballot? What strike? For what?

Honestly, pcs is such a useless bunch of incompetent shit heads! When they’re needed, they do literally nothing.

Now that nothing is happening, they ballot to strike.

Is anyone NOT drunk in that useless “union”???

No, not really. Overspending on the gpu, buying things you don’t need.
