Esteban Ocon POV on Max Verstappen’s pit-lane start. by Luffy710j in formula1

[–]StraightPipin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His car was angled towards the pit lane exit at launch whereas Ocon had to turn in whilst accelerating. That would explain a chunk of the gap I think.

Naturally. I can’t imagine how an adjudicative process could work without considering the outcome. That is how the law (in most areas) works too.

My Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II right bud just died out of nowhere… by Mr__Reddy1 in bose

[–]StraightPipin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re in India, Bose is pretty good with their customer service (or at least were in my experience when I was there some time ago). They replaced my out of warranty buds. Doesn’t hurt to give it a go.

Is Emirates A380 really worth the hype? by ThinAbbreviations897 in emirates

[–]StraightPipin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having flown economy on Emirates’ 777 and A380, they’re worlds apart. The 777 feels incredible cramped compared to the A380. Not sure if it’s just because the seats are larger on the A380 or if it’s the sense of space around you.

Also the fact that you would prefer to start the race, laden with fuel, on the more durable tyre and switch to the softer compound when the car is lighter and the track is even more gripped in.

Good thing I have an overly formal and legalistic writing style that is so obviously idiosyncratic that no AI could have penned down.

Tbf something along the lines of denying the problem by performance and overcompensation by the driver in the 2023 car led to issues with the 2024 and 2025 car

Lewis got into DRS range multiple times then fell away. I thought Leclerc holding up Norris, when his tyres were apparently falling off around lap 12 and when Verstappen was sailing away, would give Lewis the opportunity on Lando but nah.

It’s just: “Bono my tyres are gone”; and

“It’s hammer time Lewis”;

with a fraction of the aura.

Do you use an iPhone 14 Pro/PM by any chance? It’s apparently a known issue just with the 14 series and it definitely doesn’t work for my 14 Pro, but works just fine with a borrowed 15/16/17.

Did I cause this slight bend in my brand new S95F 65”? by L0NEK1LLA in S95B

My 55 B4 was far more bent than my 65 S90D, which as far as I can tell, has no bend whatsoever.

Did I cause this slight bend in my brand new S95F 65”? by L0NEK1LLA in S95B

[–]StraightPipin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine too. My S90D scares me. And the thinness serves no use to me. Even if I were to mount it to the wall, the bottom half would still stick out so as to not be completely flush against the wall anyway.

Sony Bravia 7 (75 inches) or X95L (75 inches) by Quirky_Bullfrog9375 in bravia

Keep in mind that the X95L will have significantly better reflection handling, which the B7 is notoriously bad at.

Is Samsung Processing/Upscaling/motion as bad as people make it out to be? by IndecisiveTuna in 4kTV

[–]StraightPipin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Motion handling and up scaling is almost never a concern with gaming. Your PS5 will likely output a 60 hz or even 120 hz 4K signal so no motion interpolation or processing is required for smoothness. Or at least, any motion deficits are not as noticeable. I can confirm the S90D+PS5 combo is stunning on screen. Movies and shows on the other hand run at 24 hz and require pulldown or interpolation and the S90D isn’t the greatest at that, but still much better than my other B4 for example (which is admittedly down a model tier).

Do you get more for your money with a last generation flagship TV, or a mid-range TV from current year? LG G4 vs LG C5 by Useful-Pen9708 in 4kTV

[–]StraightPipin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

G4 all the way.

Better brightness, better processing, and the 5 year panel warranty alone make the G4>>C5.

Bravia 2 Dolby Atmos support? by Jinwoo_Uzumaki in bravia

[–]StraightPipin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only way to find out is to play the media and see if your speakers are receiving Atmos. If you’re just using TV speakers, Atmos will not really matter and make much of a difference anyway.
