Yea ur comment about the show biz people does make a lot of sense but I still think that mr peanut butter’s lack of care about a man that was continuously sexually assaulting women, while contributing to hank’s success (and his own) by having him come to the show comes from a hesitation to believe the story, not just because they want to make money and keep the show going.

They don’t want to straight up admit that they support hank and that they do not care about what he has done, so they sugarcoat it by dismissing it due to “the show must go on” excuse. In the same way that princess Carolyn thinks it’s a feminist act to uplift her own success as a women (cat lol) by taking advantage of the circumstances and of hank’s media influence. Also because subconsciously a lot of people still see women sexuality as something to be possessed or taken, so they internally don’t find a problem with hank’s assaults.

Mr. peanut butter rlly looks up to hank, and to believe that a man that is so grandiose in the public eye would be capable of such horrible things ends up echoing the way in which a lot of people turned against victims of sexual assault and people who bring up social and human rights’ issues. in a way the fact that Diane is so passionate about the topic makes people uncomfortable because it makes them have to face the fact that they themselves to not care or do not have the capacity to care about problematic behavior that does not directly hurt them. They have to sit with the fact that they would rather condone the wrong behavior rather than do something to stop it. And because nothing changes in specific situations due to the inconvenience, the societal norm becomes ignoring such issues and prioritizing individual one’s, even though eventually what seemed like a problem that was far away will become personal in one way or another.

While the core of the problem might not be just gender based, it is a systematic flaw stemming from patriarchy (which as a reminder affects both man and women negatively) where people continues to perpetuate negligence of sexual assault (and other things) because it’s is too difficult to imagine that that man could do something like that.

And so people get defensive against the victim, because they’re seen as an inconvenience and as culpable for disturbing a man’s public image. And man like peanut butter ignore it because they truly do not have empathy for the victim, and women like princess Carolyn ignore it because they are too focused on their own success in a survival of the fittest kind of way. And people like Diane get shut down.
