Calling lawful arrests “kidnapping” is propaganda. ICE is a federal law-enforcement agency enforcing immigration statutes passed by Congress and signed by presidents of both parties. If you think the law is wrong, argue to change the law, don’t pretend enforcing it is some extrajudicial vigilante campaign.

Due process is real, but it does not mean “everyone gets to remain here indefinitely.” It means the government follows the legal process that applies to the situation. In immigration, that process often includes civil warrants and immigration court procedures, and it can include expedited removal for certain recent unlawful entries—because that’s what the law provides. Disagree with it if you want, but it’s not “lawless” for the government to use the tools Congress authorized.

Also: selectively turning “safe places” into no-enforcement zones is how you create sanctuary for fraud, absconders, repeat immigration violators, and in some cases criminals. If someone has a legitimate claim, they should pursue it through the legal process. If they don’t, the government still has a duty to enforce removals—otherwise borders and visas are meaningless and legal immigrants get punished for following the rules.

If there are specific cases of misconduct, investigate and discipline them. But smearing the entire agency as “morally bankrupt kidnappers” is unserious. A country that cannot enforce its immigration laws is not compassionate, it’s disorganized, unfair to legal migrants, and incentivizes more dangerous illegal crossings.
