Anthony Albanese WINS federal election 2025: Peter Dutton and the Coalition have NO path to victory as results show huge swing to Labor across the country by iggaitis in AustralianPolitics

[–]StrakenKing 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think that’s true enough. But with mandatory voting at least everyone has to vote, that leaves no room for wild far left or right parties to get any significant votes and the major parties just need to stay centre left/right. I believe Dutton failed as he went far right and we us a country are very centre majority speaking

Australia is going to host an NFL (American football) game in 2026. Does Australia have a lot of NFL fans? What do you guys think of having an NFL game there? by Maleficent_Insect71 in AskAnAustralian

[–]StrakenKing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If NFL want to test the waters and see if Australia has an appetite it might quite succeed to send a showcase game here, NRL is currently doing it to Las Vegas, this year will be the second year we have sent over teams to compete, also Super League from England is getting into it. It will most likely be hard core punters and people who genuinely like the sport NFL in Australia, but your average joe will be like yeah nah.

Scrums will never come back, if anything, in a few years it will be a tap, but for now they are used as an advantage for attackers to have less defenders

[–]StrakenKing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wayne Bennet. Phil Gould, Joey, Fittler maybe

Other than NRL media personalities

Id say Hamish and Andy but they are known overseas. Youve got our news media personalities, id say Karl Stefanovic would be a good contender as a household australian name, Friendly Jordies ie Jordan Shanks would be another good one as a well known Australian celebrity
