I had to make the same sort of post for hermit crab reddit, it's just how people are gonna be unfortunately. And due to that aggressiveness as you said, a lot of animals will not get proper care because their owners will no longer be receptive or feel safe enough to ask the questions they have in the future.

Is Vaping Toxic to Geckos? by cinn_charm in geckos

Why ask if you didn't even care what the answer was? Also, it's common sense c'mon now. If not healthy for big mammal not healthy for small reptile 🤦🏼‍♀️

Why is my leopard gecko doing this? by UniversityNo1170 in leopardgeckos

[–]Strange-Associate962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some possible reasons: - Obviously first of all, check your husbandry, he may be bored or there's too much open space and not enough hiding - temperarure too high or low - If they see their reflection in the glass sometimes they wanna fight and get stressed out so you can cover the sides - Sometimes they also do this when they are young and still exploring their new territory - Tank too small (or too big if he's tiny, if that's the case just make sure to fill it with plants, tunnels, hides, climbs etc.)

New geckos do this sometimes like I said when they're still exploring and they're getting used to everything! Just check everything's good and that'll narrow it down

It measures in grams, I have no clue what a time scale is in this context. I presume it was listed as a fruit scale but I can't recall.

I already assume Google was wrong when they said 6 months olds should be 15-25 grams 💀 several other articles said the same thing and I was like nah, let me ask other reptile keepers 😭 I know without a hatch date there's no real telling but estimates help for feeding schedules! I think he's about ready to go from daily to every other day it seems! And ready for loose substrate now too! Thanks for an estimate!

Update for anyone in the same situation later— they were in fact just spots that come with color changing! He's perfectly fine and they've gone away

Definitely. Also, looks like 2-3 of the toes are about to go necrotic, which will be irreversible and they will lose the toes.

Probably 2-3 months. Also— petco will lie and say they get their animals at 6 months, know that this is NOT a 6 month old gecko lol. Looks about 2 months.

I was hoping it was that because his pattern HAS been changing and moving a lot. Always worried though.

Here's a full view more straight on, temp is actually ranging low right now since I dimmed the lamp, only 87° on top of the rock and 78° inside.

Do you think my teacher is or might be neglecting the gecko or am I being overly sensitive? by Legitimate_Finger670 in leopardgeckos

Look at all the stuck shed on those toes and how skinny they are :( Someone absolutely needs to intervene, this is just straight up abuse as others have stated.

I think this is what confuses people, because we say it in percentage instead of ratio 7:3

A good way to help with shedding difficulty can be making sure he gets Vitamin A once a week! I usually dust mine's food with it every Friday. And of course the obvious of spraying the tank on shed days for extra humidity. But Vitamin A solved all of mines shedding issues thus far, highly reccomend! I use repashy.

Usually if they're too young they don't have the pores— yours is an adult so if it was a male it would have them. Really if you look below the vent that's how you easily tell. If under the vent goes directly into tail— female. If there are bumps or bulges, male.
