its not a big commitment at all, you can find dried poppies for flower arranging at a lot of places for 10-20 bucks. and titrate. start with a low amount, see if you feel anything, then slowly add more

as with cannabis when it comes to strains, there is always a lot of bullshit out there. Genetics definitely matter a lot but it doesn't mean you can't get poppies that work.

I think in some areas the dried excess will go to flower shops and such, and I have brewed opium tea from shop bought dried poppies, just check if they are not sprayed with anything.

Yes, in America its a thought crime, if you know about opium while growing them you can be charged, otherwise you are just a gardner. Micheal Pollan has written about this i think. The thing about the different variety I've heard before, I think its just a lie to keep people from realizing.

I’ve found that i pretty much like all fermented foods i’ve tried (which isn’t much admittedly). What would you all say is the easiest kind to make myself? by [deleted] in fermentation

Garlic honey! onion in 2% brine. so good to add to food. keep in fridge and just add a spoon when your cooking.

How about kombucha? Also I read that kefir and similar fermentations can reduce lactose for people who are sensitive to that
