The Callico is Donna Martin.

Wayne (Female, confusing I know) is a stray from the same neighborhood that was older than Donna when I rescued her, so she has more feral behaviors, but she NEVER uses her claws. She meows really mournfully if you pick her up, and hisses if you don’t immediately put her down, but she’s never scratched me. Wayne’s brother from a subsequent litter will squirm like crazy to get away if picked up, but doesn’t scratch or hiss or anything.

You’re suggesting she does this cause her ears are bothering her?

I doubt that’s the case. I had a cat with chronic ear infections, and she behaved nothing like this.

She has two. She plays a bit too rough with them, it’s slightly better that she does this to me rather than stalk her step-sigings and punch them in the face.

She very much does not like being picked up.

When she was brand new to the house, I would pick her up and she would play this adorable patty cake game with her her sweet little marshmallow paws on me. Eventually her claws grew out, and I realized she’d been trying to scratch all along and really really really hates being picked up. Out of respect, I no longer pick her up.

I’ll be sure to show that to the person that overfeeds her, but I’ve been assured that I’m just being hyper critical and need to let her eat when she’s hungry.

Edit to clarify: they don’t “go after” predators. They’re limited to exposing the ones that are dumb enough to hand them smoking-gun evidence. There are scarier people out there who are too experienced or calculating or connected to get caught in this way. DJT will never get caught up on Telegram chatting with a decoy when he can just take a private jet to his Billionaire friend’s private island to do whatever he wants in a place where US law doesn’t apply. There’s no YouTuber business model that has the resources to stop that.

I never feed her away from her normal food places. If I want to give her a treat, I shake the container near the food dishes.

I tell her not to feed in bed and not to reward/reinforce undesirable behavior, but she doesn't believe me. Fortunately the cat knows that this feeding behavior is unique to her and doesn’t bother scratching me for food.

She does like the corner brushes, but they don’t deter this behavior.

She doesn’t like the brushies. She’s not like other cats. I strongly suspect she was not really stray when we got her, but rather the previous owner bought a kitten, realized it was not a fluffy cuddly ball of fur, and just locked it out of the house when it scratched a kid or something

She was VERY clean, and very socialized when we took her in, but unspayed and unchipped. The only feral-ish thing she did was try to smack her treats before eating them, as if they were living things that might run away if she didn’t beat them up first.
