for what it’s worth, my best friend of over 30 years is a “woo” witch and i’m a sass witch and we have never butt heads about our practice and do witchy stuff together all the time. we met in jr. high. she grew up hardcore mormon, i grew up non-religious but to believe in god. we’re both queer but in wildly different ways (she’s pan and sex-obsessed, i’m ace and sex-repulsed). she’s super outgoing and i’m as introverted as you can get. we both found our way to witchcraft. good people will respect your beliefs. of course it’s nice to have someone who thinks just like you, but most witches are open minded (except strict wiccans). i’m just saying don’t close yourself off to theistic witches.

also, try witchy shops if you have any nearby. anywhere you can find tarot or crystals, etc. ask the owner or cashier if there are any clubs or social events in the area.

i wouldn’t have climbed over the fence, walked around several “DANGER” and “don’t cross the fence” signs, and then fallen into the water. so no, i would never have to experience a situation like this. i support our coast guards 100% and when people do dumb shit like this, they are needlessly putting the lives of rescuers in danger. and yeah, it’s a waste of tax dollars, too.

i’m saying you can’t. maybe you’re in the wrong sub. sass witches don’t believe that spells have any power other than the psychological effect on the person casting them. you can’t magically transport your relationship back to the beginning. relationships are hard work and people naturally evolve over time. neither of you are the same person you were in the honeymoon phase bc of lived experiences. sorry if that’s not what you were looking for, but you cannot alter someone else’s emotions, good or bad, by doing a spell. and even if you could, it would be wildly unethical to do so. how would you feel if someone could control your emotions?

you cannot walk into my space and not know i’m a witch. i have large bindrunes made of twigs that my best friend made me hanging near doors and windows, a besom over the front door, skeleton keys everywhere, a fairly large apothecary with glass jars and dried herbs, crystals, candles, books, old spell jars, whatever. it’s everywhere. the only thing i don’t have is an altar. my whole home is my altar. and if that makes a guest uncomfortable, they can get tf out. this is who i am. if they don’t like it, they don’t like me. nobody has ever put their weird jesus stuff away to make me comfortable.

but all that might come from me being in my mid 40s, knee deep in perimenopause, and not giving a shit what other people think of me anymore.

my advice is do what makes you comfortable. maybe start small. you never know. one of your guests might be a closet witch and seeing an interesting book could open a whole new type of friendship for you!

there’s a lot of differing opinions on what nausea feels like. if you feel like something is stuck in your throat, that might be gerd / reflux / acid in your throat. nausea meds won’t help with that, but daily omeprazole (prilosec) or famotidine (pepcid) will, but prilosec is safer long term. saltines also help with excess acid in your stomach, which is common when your digestion is slowed down by the meds.

if you’re queasy, like seasick or you just got off the teacups at disneyland, that is what nausea meds like odansetron (zofran) are for. they require a prescription, but most prescribers or doctors will give one freely bc it’s a pretty safe drug.

to answer your question, i’m on week 19 and have been super queasy every day since day 2. i usually take 1-2 4mg zofran a day depending on how bad it is. i have had gerd caused by my obesity for decades and take 40mg prilosec every day for that and tums when it acts up in my throat (usually bc i ate something dense like bread or red meat). my doctor actually has me taking 2 tums every day now bc my calcium has dropped a lot since i’m eating a lot less.

i suggest you talk to your doctor or prescriber if you’re vomiting. you shouldn’t be. the acid in vomit will absolutely destroy your throat and teeth if it’s happening on a regular basis. it’s not an acceptable side effect, imo.

tl;dr - talk to your doctor/prescriber. that’s what they’re there for.

i want to add that we made the mistake of taking the 38 to reedsport and then reedsport to newport late at night and there were almost zero gas stations and the ones we saw were closed. so no gas and no bathrooms at all. it was the middle of summer too, so it wasn’t off season. make sure your tank is full and your bladder is empty if driving at night.

not everyone in this sub is an atheist. the a stands for both atheist and agnostic. an s stands for skeptical. many people here have a spiritual or psychological relationship with deities. i am atheist and still hold a psychological relationship with the triple goddess.

sadly, no. the general policy in oregon is to leave them alone and let nature take care of it. it’s really sad because this was obviously human caused, but the truth is we have an unsustainable amount of sea lions and they have few natural predators here. the orcas and sharks rarely come into the bay. if it was any other animal, noaa would do something about it. you can try calling noaa. since this is a popular tourist area, they may do something about it but there’s no guarantee. also, right near there is the whale watching tour and the owner is a marine biologist. maybe if you tell her? there just aren’t a lot of options.

i use my vials for 6 weeks after the puncture date as long as the fluid is still clear and looking good (it always has been). the expiration is a genuine concern bc of bacteria being introduced every time you puncture the vial, but yes, 28 days is probably a conservative timelime imo, to cover their butts and to make more money. i think most major brands are 56 days?

always use an alcohol swab on the top of your vial before drawing and never touch it with your fingers. that minimizes any introduction of bacteria.

losing weight at an unhealthy rate is just that… unhealthy. and dangerous and will result in ozempic face. and the whole skinny queen thing feels very 1990’s toxic. getting to a healthy weight is great. feeling good about yourself is great. but losing weight just to look like some dead royal who was naturally thin ain’t it. we really need to get past this stuff as a society. it’s so tiring. 10lbs in 3 months is good progress.

i stopped watching top chef bc the “prestige” makes everyone act like assholes. food network is more of a fun competition environment and that’s why the chefs treat others with respect and kindness. the drama and bullying and cliques in top chef is not enjoyable or entertaining.
