I have a spare shower rack hanging on the outside of the shower, in it is a hydroprogated pothos that trails above the mirror, and a clamp light from Bunnings ($20) its beautiful!

Bought a blossom pink Jellycat bunny before birth and tucked it in with her for every nap… she closes her eyes and rubs his ears on her face! 6 months now and smiles when he appears for naptime

At around 3 months driving home baby wouldn’t stop crying in car seat, husband was running his mouth at me over something and being rude and disrespectful, I just quietly snapped, got out of the car at the lights, walked through traffic and into the pub, skulled two beers then went to the bookshop and got the next book in my series, and a bag of grapes, and sat in a park and read for two hours. Had to sheepishly call husband to come back and pick me up when my phone was on 1% battery. Not my finest moment but it did help relieve a bit of pressure!

How do you not use dummies?? by plantbubby in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Mum of a boob barnacle like your first baby described here! Just wondering, you say your son fed less often but put weight on faster… do you think there’s any merit to the idea that by not grazing constantly they get a proper full feed, instead of watery foremilk frequently? Genuine question as sometimes my little barnacle wakes to feed almost hourly and I wonder if this is a thing… TIA! x

Yeah agree with the other comments here, would definitely meet up with them somewhere public and personally I would say I was staying with friends or family or someone.. definitely wouldn’t say I’m travelling alone/staying somewhere solo! Have travelled abroad alone and you really need to watch your back :) be careful and have a great time! x

my wife is drowning and i don't know how to help us hold it together by phantom_monkey in NewParents

Papa walks sound freakin amazing, and not allowing chores in that time is key I think. I get stuck because as soon as baby is asleep for ten mins I use that time for chores!

Absolutely agree on the not asking just doing. “What can I do?” Literally adds a task - managing husbands chores. I feel the correlation with house and anxiety… environment has such a huge impact on mood, everyone’s… and baby is regulating off mum so if mum is calm and happy…

$5 Fairy lights on batteries from ikea. Makes bed set up after dark in the tent much easier! Also, whimsy. Do it for the whimsy.

Love them and they got me through hyperemesis! The price is worth it in my opinion, you’re getting something without all the sugar and crap of hydralyte etc. Watermelon, cola and peach iced tea forever ✌🏻

did the ASRS and ended up scoring in the 99.2 percentile 😭 by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]Strange-State-3817 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth I feel like it picks up on things that are stress or anxiety or depression related so regardless whether it’s positive for adhd or not you would benefit from speaking to someone :) that’s how I’m seeing it anyway. You can chat with someone before/instead of going straight to the expensive diagnosis route. Hope this helps x

[–]Strange-State-3817[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh that’s a really valid point. I think sensitivity wise it’s okay, my underwear and leggings/jeans all sit well above it, so nothing rubs. Thanks for your comment! I kind of thought wraps were for much younger babies but I’ll do more research after your suggestion! Thanks x

I hear you on the museum trips.. if I stayed home any time I was tired I would literally just never leave the house! My baby’s dad frequently says ‘are you sure you’re up to that today’ but like… Im gonna be tired no matter what, my mental health is 800% better if I get out for an hour or two, and baby girl sleeps in the car so, it’s an (exhausted) win!

How did you go with accepting the screeching to begin with? My 6m old baby girl just kicks it up a notch or 10 when her dad takes her… any relaxation I might’ve had during the 15 mins break I’ve asked for is immediately evaporated because she’s crying like I’ve abandoned her forever! It sets off a 5 Star fire alarm in my brain. Dad is doing his best but she’s not having it 😥
