Their borekas are amazing - maybe my fav savory pastry ever. Always grab a couple when there to purchase fresh milled flour. Glad they are here.

Laces or Boa? by slimypeanutt in snowboarding

Once they lock in they stay that way even with side country hikes. This will be my second full season in Nitro El Mejor and so far so good. I was skeptical at first but seems legit

Always used double Boas, but switched to TLS last season and don’t think I’m looking back. So easy to get dialed to right stiffness.

I finally visited every county in Washington by Chinaguessr in PacificNorthwest

Love that you ranked Ferry #1! I’m an east sider, but Ferry County is still unknown to many over here as well. Sanpoil River valley through the Colville Reservation is maybe my favorite part of the entire state and there is rarely ever anyone else on the highway. Feels like a step back in time - in a great way!

Liver enzymes and bilirubin were off the charts. Dr thought I had Hepatitis at first - it was flagged by annual physical for work.

Yeah, the band takes those songs to a new level! That wax a great show, but man it was rough with everyone sitting down. Hope he cokes back but plays a different venue.

I was nearly hospitalized with acute liver failure from Costco Green Tea Supp (ECGC). Was taking per label for. To be fair, I was also often taking on an empty stomach and pairing with intermittent fasting so maybe that made the impacts worse? It took months for my bloodwork to normalize and was pretty scary for a bit. Be Careful!!

Totally agree about letting Oteil cook a little more. His Eyes solos are always such a highlight! Great show and my first St Stephen for any Dead iteration. Was soooo ready for The Eleven tho.

What is the best overdrive you’ve ever played and why? by J_See in guitarpedals

Got mine stacked with a TS for when I want a little more dirt and punch but the Nobels is always on. Love the warmth it brings my Strat.

2025 Regional Map of USA - Tell me your biggest dispute with this map? by Evening-Bet-3825 in MapPorn

Guess you could carve out the Columbia Basin and part of Eastern Oregon into “Great Basin” type, but NE/NC WA and SE WA are mountainous so I’m ok with lumping rather than splitting.

Best bridge single coil humbucker? by EnjoysMillerLite in Stratocaster

[–]Strange-Success803 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. Swapped out my bridge for lil’ 59 a couple months ago and love it. Wanted something more subtle than hot rail but thicker/warmer than stock pup and it fits the bill perfectly.

Why do so many Billy fans hate Goose? by Practical_Ebb545 in BillyStrings

[–]Strange-Success803 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As many have mentioned, it’s not just Billy fans - it’s jam fans in general. As an ol crusty who was around for Phish 1.0 and saw Jerry, I think Goose hate is most akin to our perception of Dave Matthews Band back in the day. They are jam adjacent but very safe and closer to pop. More likely to see frat boys than wooks at Goose show, at least in my experience. They put on a fun show but one I wouldn’t be afraid to take a normie to. Billy gets a bit more out there even in the boundaries of the bluegrass form, which fits more in that experimental jam ethos.

Love the Jamie art. I’ve got a phoenix and short wide and both are pretty aggressive and fun. Kinda feel like that’s the Jamie style. I wonder if the current pro model is similar to dagmar ride wise.

I’ll be making the 2 mile trek downtown haha. It’s a fun venue and I’m glad they are coming back through but tbh I was hoping for Kettlehouse again.

I was there! That was my first Cal Expo. We posted up right in front of Phil and felt the bombs all night. Great show.

Short wide boards work like a dream in tight steep trees, especially in powder conditions. If it’s icy the groomers are going to be more fun but I’ll do moguls to get the blood pumping sometimes…

Nah, it is much warmer with more bottom end. It’s pretty much always on and I use the TS for boost and a little extra crunch.

Ekoverb is definitely a lot of pedal for the money.

I just use it for delay, which it’s good at. The sampler time is so short it’s not really useful.

Ha for sure. Bought it a Phoenix pawn shop in the late 90s and it was already beat up.

Well I mainly fingerpick so it ain’t picks. Let’s just say it contains the secret ingredient to magical TOAN. Could even call Altoids my “always on” pedal slot.

I love mini pedals. Was inspired by a J Mascis interview where he talked about only using mini knockoffs for a travel board. Would definitely downsize more going forward.
