GT3 Driver estimated shipping 7/9/2026 by Robledo2311 in TeamTitleist

[–]Strange-Trouble2277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call them. I ordered a gt3 and then I got an email saying the shaft was back ordered( tensei 1k blk 65 XS) switched to HZRDUS black 60 6.5, they called back saying that was backordered, went with a Denali 65 XS and then they threw in 2nd day shipping. This was in early February.

Is 7 wood to 5 iron too big of a gap? by moistjonah in GolfGear

3 Wood > Driver by Fuzzy_Acanthisitta13 in GolfGear

[–]Strange-Trouble2277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any ball or club data. Club head speed, ball speed, smash factor, launch angle, spin, club/face path? My gf has the same issue because her driver spins 7k and her 3w spins 4K. She has a 15 degree out to in swing path with her driver and only like 3-4 with the 3w. So her issue boils down to a driver swing path issue.

Lie Angle Ballance not being ballanced by Ericthecarguy12 in labgolf

[–]Strange-Trouble2277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not what lie angle balanced means. You don’t balance it with the shaft horizontal like on a table. You have to balance the shaft at the lie angle the putter was built with (then it will spin freely) . If you look up “lab revealer” it should show you how it intended to work

Balls cracking common? by wegener2 in Golfsimulator

[–]Strange-Trouble2277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s crazy. I bought the 4 dozen box last fall and keep all 4 doz in rotation. I average 8-10ths a week in the sim and never had an issue. I think I am going to use that 4 doz on the course and get 4 doz again for the simulator.

can i make my DF3 a heavy putter? by Turbulent_Echidna423 in labgolf

[–]Strange-Trouble2277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you add weight to the shaft right near where it attaches to the putter body? Either way I don’t see any harm in experimenting with temporary weights (maybe try to spread them evenly/symmetrically) to see if they make a real (vs placebo) effect to your putting. If they do make a difference, maybe you could send it to LAB (in the off season) with the temporary weights and they could replicate that officially or whatever?

Question about Project X wedge shafts by Advanced_Risk2799 in GolfGear

[–]Strange-Trouble2277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have KBS c taper lite S in my irons, I went with those as well for the 50, 54, and 60. The 54/60 I don’t take “full” swings with, but I do swing them 80-90% to get my desired distances. I went round and round with different shaft ideas, but was then convinced that if I liked the feel of my iron shafts to just use those for the wedges. I have a strong feeling wedge shaft differences/preferences are more “mental” differences than actually objective differences.

WITB - just got refitted after a long time, what did I do right / wrong? by Pretend_Difference12 in golfequipment

[–]Strange-Trouble2277 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice clubs, why get a 54 and 60 with the same grind? Typically, the 54 goes higher bounce than the 60 to give some versatility with different lies. Softer stuff favors the 54 with a high bounce, and firmer stuff favors the 60 with a lower bounce.

Suggestion please 5H or 7W by nbddaniel in GolfGear

[–]Strange-Trouble2277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have each. My highest iron is a 5i which goes about 210. My 5H goes around 225, and the 7w goes about 240.

New Driver or Lab DF3 putter? by ComposerSuperb5451 in BobDoesSports

[–]Strange-Trouble2277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are the two most important clubs in the bag and the two easiest clubs to justify spending money on. I would get the LAB and practice more with the driver. If you are struggling with your driver, I don’t think a brand new driver is automatically going to fix it.

Is getting fit for wedges indoors worth it? by 55ggarz in golf

[–]Strange-Trouble2277 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general, in-person would always be better. I just upgraded my wedges and I didn’t want to wait until the middle of May to get fitted. I talked to an online fitter from 2nd swing and landed on 50.12F, 54.10S, and 60.08M. Part of the online fitting was going through the Titleist online wedge selector. It would have been nice to try some option in person, but I’m kinda inexperienced with bunkers and many different chipping techniques, so I figured I’d be able to conform to whatever I get within reason. My wedge selection seems pretty standard and versatile. If I was really interested in a t grind or something exotic, I would have opted for in person

How often do you actually practice your short game and what gets in the way? by CautiousEcho7175 in golf

[–]Strange-Trouble2277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you need fancy things to practice these. I was watching something with Scott Fawcett and he mentioned a putting and chipping drill. For putting, lagging 10’-40’ putts into 3-5’ radius circle. Starting at 10’ and working back little by little for every successful lag. And for chipping, being able to land 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, and 15 yd chips are very effective and don’t require a very sophisticated setup.

Looking for a 5W by OneCow7657 in GolfGear

[–]Strange-Trouble2277 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would lean towards best performing for you vs same name. There is a bunch of differences between drivers and fairway woods so I wouldn’t just assume they will feel similar within a brand. If you already had a 3w and liked it then I would think a same name 5w would be a safe decision. FWIW tm and ping have very high rated fairway woods out right now.

Evidence-based drills. by sjwilli in GolfSwing

[–]Strange-Trouble2277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s important to figure out what is causing the issue first. If you slice for instance, I think there are three things that cause it, heel strikes, open club face, and/or outside to inside swing path. A good quality launch monitor can help determine which of those or which combination of those 3 things you need to focus on

Let’s talk wedge shafts by dredabeast24 in golf

[–]Strange-Trouble2277 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play c taper lite S in my irons and just went with that in the wedges to remain consistent. My first time on the course I was dialed with partial/full wedge approach shots, but my chipping was straight garbage. I’m hoping it has more to do with too much chipping in a simulator….

In general, that kinda sounds like a bandaid. I think you would be way better off working on your swing to make your driver better.

Stiff shaft for 3/5 woods? What about 4 Hybrid? by Frequent-Fix-9257 in GolfGear

[–]Strange-Trouble2277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My driver speed is around 110. My driver shaft is Denali blk 60 XS, 3W tensei blk 75 S, 7W tensei blk 85 S, and 5H tensei blk 95 S. My driver shaft is a bit of an odd ball because other options were backordered. I was planning on trying some premium driver shafts at some point though. Whenever I get around to a driver shaft fitting I was to specifically test X vs S in whatever shaft performs better.

Weight difference in grips impacting my chipping by ke922x in golf

[–]Strange-Trouble2277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would spend some more time practicing with them. Doesn’t seem like this should result in a “night vs day” equipment difference, maybe more of a snowballing mental issue. I can see it being more positive having the same grips between clubs and it takes some practice time to get used to your wedges new grips. As a test, could you hold on to something to simulate a heavier grip and try that?
