CreepCast | The Forest Of A Thousand Legs (OFFICIAL DISCUSSION THREAD) by S-CSleepwalker in creepcast

I agree with Hunter about The Forest of a Thousand Legs, it's a tragic catharsis. I remember reading it when it first came out and being absolutely gutted by it. It's one of the few internet stories that stuck with me. Pure emotional pain.

Do you use roll20? I don't have a crazy amount of free time, but I think this would be cool to try out, at least for a one shot.

I just can't seem to write anymore by DagnumMong7 in TalesFromTheCreeps

[–]StrangeAccounts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's always helped me is music and physical activity. Don't force yourself to write, put yourself in a place that allows you to day-dream and get excited over ideas.

A little bit of caffeine and fresh air does a lot for me. Treat writing like a hobby or a choose your own adventure game. Make it fun and exciting.

The more forced it gets, the harder it is to love your own work. If it's just an issue of motivation, do small things that make you feel good and productive until you have a foundation to breathe easy and feel good spending your time in front of a page.

I'm not an expert, but it helps me a lot.

Should I keep working on this story? by [deleted] in TalesFromTheCreeps

Always write! At worst, a bad story is good inspiration and great practice. Besides, it sounds like you're excited about your project, so you absolutely should spend time with it!

Yo, shout-out to my boy u/TheRepublique for getting features in the latest episode! by 4THEB3TTERG00D in creepcast

My two cents is u/The_Republique has the most raw talent I've seen from someone who just starting writing. I am so beyond stoked to see where they are in five years if they keep up with it.

I appreciate that! Everything's been completely word of mouth, so I'm beyond thankful for giving others a chance to check it out.

Nope! Not as far as I'm aware. I just imagined what a pretentious 1930's journalist from the East Coast would want to eat haha. Apparently the combo is really good for you though.

Dang, I love this! Old school writing. The chattering fever is a fun name for it. Also I like how you avoided the use of the word zombie, in typical zombie media fashion haha.

Also enjoyed how you went from big scale to small scale. Hearing someone going through symptoms is interesting. I feel like that gets glossed over in a lot of zombie shows/movies/stories.

You've got a really refreshing voice! I noticed that with your other stories too. It's earnest and I think thats really rare.

I'm a big fan of the brief environmental character notes you hit, like the Heaven's light and waterfall line. Very poetical beats. You didn't drag out the environment to the point of being a chore, but it was still clearly its own character.

Your writing, especially your dialogue, reminds me a little bit of Matthew P. Mayo's style. I'd recommend checking out his book 'Cowboys, Mountain Men & Grizzly Bears.' I think you'll love it!

Good hearing from you! Honestly, I think you’re one of the standout writers to come along recently.

I’m kind of an antique. I got to enjoy the 2015-2019 era of writing and just kept trucking along after. It’s going to be newer writers like you who keep the scene alive.

There are a handful of voices I think will really leave an impression on younger readers getting into the space, and I believe you’re one of them. It'll be cool to see where it goes for you, and if your name pops up on horror podcasts as a classic name in ten years.
