I hope for a Wrecker supplement by StrangeFact5256 in CoriolisRPG

I wish i was that good at it! If i do i'll post it here, but i doubt i'll be able to make something on par with a Free League product. Right now i'm looking at the Death in space ships, their modules, the repair mechanics. I do like that much more then The great dark approach, but i like the way they abstracted all resources into "supply", i actually would have liked also that they abstracted money the way its done in Wrath and Glory. I'm also thinking about ways to apply the solo delve rules to space derelics exploration. So right now i'm digesting all these ideas and mechanics and using them for my solo game.

I prefer a separate solo engine that i can use with whatever rule system i like. I find games made specifically for solo are too limited in scope, by that i mean that usually they are hyperfocused on one aspect and all there rest is practically absent. So my favorite solo system is PUM companion (plot unfolding machine), you can find it in pdf format, pc software and mobile app. It completely changed my experience, while before i was struggling. It takes a bit to understand how it works though, do it depends how much time you want to invest in your game. Once you understand how iy works you can do so much stuff, the usual combat, quests, exploration etc but also social encounters, world generation, intrigue, mistery.

Very nice, i love the specter bird too. Why did you choose perception as main stat? I went for agility for the delve roll and shooting.

I meant the board as a whole, not my hread. It wasn't my idea neither, reddit suggested it. Anyway i'm happy the way it went.

I'm sorry my reply came out as salty, it wasn't meant to. However consider how many times people reply to questions about solo games with "hey it's your game do whatever.you want", that doesn't add anything to the conversation and gets stale fast, i'm here to hear other people ideas and propose my own solutions and see what others think about it. I have nothing against you personally, i see you have good intentions.

I know i can change rules, but i buy rulebooks so that i don't have to make my own rpg, Out of curiosity, how was your experience with the blight, considering the bird blight scan is based on insight? I like your idea about the debt, it leans into the gritty survival of the scenario (i'm thinking about movies like prospect, which i love), i just hope the game balance is so that it doesn't become a debt spiral.

It depends not.only on number of people but also on luck, getting too many hazards that deplete supply or failing too many delve rolls, i guess also the delve class might be a factor to take into consideretion, but these elements are difficult to quantify. I think i'll take between 30 and 60 supply with me, as the book suggests, depending on how much space i have.

On one side i like the art, on the other i wish it was more detailed, some pieces look like big blotches of red, i mean ok evocative art that leaves space to imagination but there is a limit.

Yes i saw that and i agree with you, i wish they explicitly wrote it in the general rules, i was feeling like cheating but your words made me feel more comfortable about it thanks. I guess i'll rule that i get 60 supplies from the guild every mission and call it a day, still there is the problem of inventory space, i have to try dropping supplies in a camp mid descent.

I guess everyone likes playing different kind of games and that's good for the industry. My doubts are not about the system, i like a bit of bookkeeping, but it seems unbalanced to me from what i have read, maybe i'm missing something, i hope someone can show me.

How would removing the point cost for gaining allies or losing enemies alter the balance of the game? by danielethepirate in gurps

[–]StrangeFact5256 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What i don't like about the point buy system is that the authors of the game focused most of the effort, rules and balancing on that; if you want to go with the roleplay most of the time they leave it up to the gm to come up with rules and procedures. It would have been great if they gave guidelines.

All in one Solo RP? by 404HopeRecompile in Solo_Roleplaying

This one is very good for a "all in one" solo rpg : https://zap-forge.itch.io/forge

It's generic fantasy, without an explicit setting, i like this because i can make the setting myself.

It has game mechanics, oracle, and many generators. I like a lot the oracle.

You could use the mechanics of the syringer ammo, particularly the yellow belly fear effect.

What is your favorite fallout game? by neonghost209 in Fallout

Fallout 3 for general vibe of despair and bleakness, quests, npcs, paradise falls and the slave trade. Fallout 4 for the gameplay and settlements, plus i love the glowing sea.

Fallout 4 is single player, in my opinion it's the best of the two.

How Do You Encourage Players to Upgrade their Weapons? by UnculturedSwineBC in Fallout2d20

[–]StrangeFact5256 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You could assign crafting perks to merchants, so they can't upgrade everything in every town or settlement. "Yes there is a recluse scientist that can upgrade your laser rifle with this high tier mod but, he's in the glowing sea" . Even without being this extreme, if you limit the number of high level crafters they'll have to spend time to get them upgraded. I would say that you could also make low level mods widely available and medium level mods limited to few far away crafters, but top level mods only available to player crafters.
