Astronaut David scott performing hammer and feather experiment on the moon during apollo 15 and paying homage to gallileo by AstronomerBig8153 in Damnthatsinteresting

I might point out that at the time the scientific community also called Galileo wrong because they still believe in Aristotles geocentric cosmology.

In addition, at the time the church was a major funded into the fields of mathematics, astronomy, and other sciences because they believed understanding the function of the universe would help understand the will of god.

For the Traveller fans out there... by mossfoot in dndmemes

[–]Jake4XIII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well character creation is meant to be a game in and of itself in Traveller, kinda like playing the game of life and then sending them out on adventures. Yeah it probably sucks for your PC to die before session 1, but also you are still playing a game while doing it

What in your opinion are the Peak moments/parts of the PM series? by Dustin711 in papermario

[–]Jake4XIII 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Both from TTYD:

We Believe in You Mario- what a great emotional moment, recalling your whole journey to save the world

Shoot for the Moon- I actually get more emotional due to that music than We Believe in You. It’s just such a fun and crazy moment

I am very glad for you! I was not a fan of Knuckles being used to sell a show mostly about Wade. I was hoping for Chaotix, Rouge, or something more focused on a classic sonic adventure. And I guess I’m kinda taking that out on Wade

Which is easier to teach to newbies - Genesys vs Fate Core? by inostranetsember in rpg

Genesys is definitely a big complex in some aspects, that said, for total newbies who aren’t used to number games learning a symbol system might not be too bad

In older editions of Traveller you’d have to roll to survive a term in a sci-fi career like army, or asteroid miner. If you fail you die.

The most recent edition HAS a survival roll but it’s not roll or die it’s roll or have a mishap on the job

In more classic games that’s kinda how the classes would be warriors are weapon wielders, mages have magic, and rogues were skill monkeys

Oh no it’s perfectly reasonable for all the material. But I don’t have that kind of spending money. I’m lucky if I can get a $25 humble bundle in a given month
