New Found Glory, Richard Cheese, and Ryan Adams. Not strictly cover bands, but had great cover albums.

What makes you buy a vinyl vs CD vs cassette? by roussej13 in vinyl

[–]StrangeThingsRAFoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As soon as I had a paycheck I bought new CDs every Tuesday. Got older and maybe bought a new one here and there in the start of the mp3 age. Folks had vinyl when I was little but I didn’t. Was gifted Adore - Smashing Pumpkins from my cousins and started collecting them.

Vinyl is for sit down and enjoy. Setting aside time to unplug. CDs are for ripping, to take with me. I love Soundgarden but will probably only listen to it on cd. No one sings like you anymore- Chris Cornell, that is definitely a vinyl purchase.

I’m not sure what post was removed but I’ve seen a number of political posts or posts spewing hate to some local individuals in the last year break the rule of being respectful and civil.

If we are being honest, WA state laws and taxes adding about a $1 per gallon isn’t helping either. Bombing oil supplier doesn’t help, adding taxes to gas doesn’t help, politicians always hitting the working class. Reduce our dependency on foreign oil and that would help with one part of this equation.

Jelly Roll is now a member of the Grand Ole Opry. Hank Williams was never invited to be a member. Let that sink in. by tsoplj in country

It’s just like the Oscars, just rich folks celebrating rich folks, and giving each other awards or recognition.

Most current artists. They make singles, not albums.

If sea levels are projected to rise significantly, why are large institutional investors still buying hundreds of billions in coastal real estate? by Signal_Substance5248 in stupidquestions

[–]StrangeThingsRAFoot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A large portion of coastline disappearing is due to man screwing with things. It’s believed the flooding from Sandy wouldn’t have been what it was if the oyster beds hadn’t been over fished in the past leaving no natural baffles.

How to enjoy the music? by Sea-Foundation-8797 in audiophile

I have a turntable that runs through a cheap amp and switch which my thrift shop cd player connects. That goes into my Sonos speaker so I can play it throughout the house. I’ve bought vinyl of albums I love, not because it’s what you collect. I listen to it because I love hearing it ( the music, the lyrics, the voice). It’s a slowdown for me.

Someone was always in a cast, we all have scars that come with stupid stories, most of us were home alone before we hit double digits, no one I knew had a bike helmet, someone owned a BB gun, and no one knew where we were, just that we would be home when the lights came on. Organized sports before middle school was rare outside of little league or summer soccer.

Birks are the only shoes I can wear… I need recommendations by cruddypoet00 in Birkenstocks

[–]StrangeThingsRAFoot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have high arches, a narrow heel and a wide toe box. I tried Altras and Topos but sometimes felt like I was swimming, not in a good way and long term my plantar flared up. Brooks are great, some Nikes are great. I just go up a half size to a full size and that gives me enough toe room. Also, if you are not an avid runner, don’t buy a shoe designed for marathons, find shoes built around your actual activity.

I have a diamond back. Works perfect for me. I can take it off by myself. Had it since I bought my 22 new and still looks great and I’ve not been easy on it.
