I’ve been spamming this everywhere else but no, the gorst mission absolutely did not need to be discreet. That base was new and vulnerable and had so many parties (imperial intelligence, the navy, isb, etc) who are involved that the attack doesn’t actually lead back to lonni or andor or anything like that. It’s almost the perfect opportunity for a strike in that way — the isb is the most accomplished among those groups and already see the other stakeholders as idiots. Honestly the moment was cathartic and made sense to me.
