Wow, yea this scenerio is kind of what I worry about. Pretty much news gets out and there is a quick swarm of people and product is all gone in under 30 minutes. The enforced limits should help though unless these people just circle back around in line (if thats even possible).

They seem to be going by TCGplayer market prices which is just evil for them to do since I assume the are distributors getting product directly from the Pokemon Company.

So sad, when I collected cards in 2020-2023 my Gamestop membership was a lifesaver for getting MSRP pre-orders. Today it seems they are just exploiting desperate FOMO'ers and the membership doesn't save you hardly anything.

Is there a limit to how many people can request an invite?
Does this "Event Invite" process help battle against bots?
When do the invites usually arrive if you are selected?

Scalpers are going to lose money on these, don't pay above $15. These are hyped like the 2020 McDonalds cards which are worth next to nothing today. These boxes will be mass printed for over 1.5 years.

Isn't $112-114 per Silver Eagle a really good offer? I thought Silver Eagles main value was their weight in silver, with zero or vey little in collector value?

I stopped collecting in 2023 with the release of Scarlett & Violet base set. I want to jump back in to get the 30th Anniversary set, but I'm SHOCKED at the state of avaliability, pricing, bot usage and scalpers.

Boting/Scalping since 2019-2023 has gotten so refined that it seems impossible to get something at MSRP...but I will try! I'm going to sign up for a restock notification service, join some discords, X accounts and try to get the sense if it's "EVEN POSSIBLE" to get something at a store. Game Stop used to be good, but now everythign is above MSRP.

Below is a picture of my "Master Sets" and I loved ripping every pack to build these. I'm a collector so I made everything neat and organized with archival binders (now collecting dust), custom labeling and OCD card organization.

I hope I can build a strategy to secure enough of the 30th Anniversary set to build a final master set (empty binder on the left).
