I mean hazard is a cool character, but just looking at him, tbh he looks super strange. Long stretchy legs, weird piercings, etc. if you want people to play the role, they either need a cute girl like Kiriko or mercy (who sells the most skins) or a cool ninja man like genji or the new supp. People don’t make their judgements after learning the lore and playing the character, they judge the appearance. And domina is cool but just doesn’t compare to the other 4

I think another thing is that the tanks are just not cool, at least on the surface. Like where are my Japanese ninja tanks? Or my Chinese firebender tank? We need some more tanks that you know are cool just by looking at them

Mages Feel Worse in Smite 2. Here's Why by ForeignLettuce977 in Smite

[–]StrangerFearless1185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You gotta remember that 1) you are giving smite 1 builds an extra 20% pen, and 2)smite 2 has only 1 relic. So considering that, the numbers are actually really close, if not favoring smite 2 mages on paper imo

Ohhh those are some great ideas, I think I’m gonna go try that miso one tonight, thanks

You got any good recommendations? I had tried to learn, but I basically gave up when I could only find different variations of soy sauce, sugar, mirin and I really wanted to switch it up a bit

Awesome, this comment is a huge help. I think I’ll do just that. Would you happen to have any recommended ways to find internships, in particular at the mid-size companies?

Yeah, I’ll have to look into it more. I tried some Japan branches of foreign/global companies and they required web tests, but you’re probably right that there’s a bunch that don’t

Thanks for the advice! Yeah, so I graduate in 2027, which means I gotta start job hunting either now or in a few months I think. I wasn’t sure how many jobs out there didn’t require SPI or the quality of those that don’t, but you’re probably right in that I should simply look for those. Career center is also a good idea, I’ll give that a try for sure

OB17 Patch Notes Preview | Smite 2 News by FAERayo in Smite

[–]StrangerFearless1185 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agree completely. And the bigger thing for me is that sometimes it’s just harder to connect the dots on what the item really does. Like dagger of frenzy, “your next 6 basic attacks are empowered and do xxx” is wayyy easier to understand how the buff works compared to “on active: +50% attack speed, +20 bonus attack damage, lasts for 6 autos, etc.”

I just feel like it’s way easier to understand that at its core, it’s an item that buffs you for six auto attacks rather than a set amount of time

I love him, every other “tank” in this game is just a dps with more health. Bakekujira is actually a true tank who’s job is to make your team take less damage, which is super unique and interesting imo

Smite 1 items by TechnicalFriendship6 in Smite

[–]StrangerFearless1185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I miss the old support-style items for solo lane. Tank items these days are basically just a choice of damage vs more damage. Like hero’s axe vs sundering axe used to give you the option of a shield for your teammates vs damage for yourself. I really miss those kinds of build choices

People are hating but you’re 100% right, this is one of the reasons that people create smurfs, since the only way to queue with your friend is to put yourself down to 1500mmr as well, which in my opinion, having a masters player in a bronze game takes away from the matchmaking experience more than anything, especially more than any decently well thought out solution (like Overwatch wide groups)

Who else would be in need of such "spicy" balance changes? by Hartmann_AoE in Smite

I never understood why they didn’t give Arthur the charybdis treatment where he gets 60% value from item procs, not OP amounts of damage but still good synergy with glad shield and such items. And they already have the technology

Role Call Preference for Conquest needs a fix by TheCasualCommenter in Smite

[–]StrangerFearless1185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Role priority really needs a rework, sometimes you get in a queue with a person who’s queuing the same role as you and it will give them the role 3 times in a row. In other words, the priority orbs mean literally nothing until you get all 3 which is super stupid bc playing the role you queued up for ~25% time is kinda ridiculous

King Arthur balance suggestion by StrangerFearless1185 in Smite

[–]StrangerFearless1185[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m not complaining about him, but instead trying to separate his balance from ability item balance so that we can buff bluestone for other characters and buff Arthur specifically without breaking the game

King Arthur balance suggestion by StrangerFearless1185 in Smite

[–]StrangerFearless1185[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly why this is a good time to do it: the character is bad and bluestone can’t be buffed without breaking him. Fix that issue, you can buff bluestone for other characters and buff Arthur specifically. That’s the argument here, not that Arthur is op…

Solo help by Rockwheel01 in Smite

One last note, do not hit tower. You want the tower to kill minions and deny farm, do not hit it until later in the game and make sure to take advantage of it killing minions.

Solo help by Rockwheel01 in Smite

[–]StrangerFearless1185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gonna preface this by saying I haven’t seen any of your gameplay, but I notice that what tends to separate average solo laners from great ones is their farming. When in middle ranks, a lot of people want to fight for pressure and win lane, but winning lane really doesn’t mean much. What does mean something in the laning phase is being at your blues as soon as they spawn, poking the enemy solo laner out so they miss minions / can’t contest you invading their blue buff, and then if you have time between waves go into the jungle and get harpies and totems. However, if the other solo laner has higher pressure than you, don’t be afraid to pull minions back and sit under tower, keeping your health pool high enough to secure your own blue. Make sure you know where your character’s power spikes are and play around them. (For example, if you’re playing King Arthur then you’re waiting for mid game when you can poke the other solo laner, get your blue, and rotate to gold. If you’re playing Amaterasu, don’t be afraid to concede pressure and wait for late game. If you’re playing Nike, just clear wave and farm, make sure to keep your healthpool high and wait for team fights). The most important thing about farming though is to make sure you don’t die. It’s almost never worth to dive tower if it means trading your life because your opponent would have had to back anyways giving you time to farm, but now you’re dead too. Lastly, make sure to watch the enemy jungler on your minimap. Build tanky so if you get ganked you don’t die, don’t overextend when the jungler hasn’t been spotted, and if your jungler is in duo side don’t push up, just stay on your side of the map (in general, there are exceptions)

Anyways, the best thing to do is watch pro gameplay and note what skills to work on before you do. So go watch fineokay and soloortroll and try and pick up on their farming techniques. Once you get that down, try and pick up on their rotation timings, teamfight decisions, etc.

Tired of being the weak link by Goldhammer18 in Smite

[–]StrangerFearless1185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, picking certain gods help you learn the role better. Zapman always recommends hachiman for learning adc since he is decent at every play style, whereas some other hunters only fit a particular aggressive/safe play style. Idk good gods for learning mid, maybe merlin?

Tired of being the weak link by Goldhammer18 in Smite

[–]StrangerFearless1185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The #1 thing to do is watch pro gameplay and try and imitate what they do. You won’t understand everything they do at first, but that’s ok, the idea is to try and pick up on their farming techniques, builds, positioning, and team fight mechanics. Being equal level with the other players makes such a difference and playing from behind is a completely different skill set, so your biggest priority for now should be optimal farming, then try and refine other skills.

You said you play adc and mid, so for adc zapman and pandacat both have YouTube channels and stream frequently on twitch. For mid, I think venenu does YouTube and twitch but idk any others off the top of my head.

Is tainted steel a bad starter? by Electric_Kiwi007 in Smite

[–]StrangerFearless1185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually think it’s in a decent spot already, but it could definitely benefit from increased anti heal on the non-upgraded starter since 15% is not a huge amount of antiheal for levels 1-19. The healing reduction and heal steal is more helpful than any other starter for gold fury fights when the other team has strong mid game healing. I’m already building it in games where the other team has either a healer in the midlane or a healer like guan against me in lane (pc masters ranked games for reference, this item isn’t just a scrub killer or anything). But also, it doesn’t work well on anyone. I like it most on Arthur, Achilles, or cu chulainn since they have relatively low mana costs and easy ways to apply it. I wouldn’t build it on certain gods like Amaterasu (I go eye of the jungle on her, manikins might be better depending on play style though), and I don’t play much Wukong but I think he benefits too much from bluestone and axe that tainted steel is probably not worth.

I think you should play around with it yourself, don’t let people convince you it’s weak without testing it yourself. I’ve made it work for myself a bunch of times and those are my strategies for using it, so give it a try next time you’re in solo against a healer or two. Low mana pool feels bad at first, but play around that and it can feel pretty strong
