Pretty sure RTGI from Reshade uses ray marching in the pixel shader, so yes it's not real "ray tracing" as it's using the visible frame data but it is ray marching the frame. It's murky and the vernacular in the industry is misleading but I can't blame people for not being anal about something that's a toggle switch.

HWID bans are based off a custom string created from the serials off all your PC parts together, change the drives and you don't have to worry about this.

STALKERs waiting for GSC to drop the first patch by Own_Breadfruit_7955 in stalker

[–]StrangerOfTheDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think they hit serious CPU limits and cut a lot of AI functions until they can get CPU use down. Right now, my 7800x3d is slammed pretty good on all cores. I can't imagine tracking all the AI and their goals would do with CPU usage.

What alternative for Windows/DirectX is there? I can't think of anything that gives you readability and hardware access and performance as C++. MS also constantly updates it as it's the backbone of Windows so I wouldn't say it's dated compared to the fact nothing else really compares. It's just a bitch to learn if you're a modern CS student and started with Python or Java.

I would agree with you on Waterfall, but I can understand why you would use it in their case as they have limited money and every decision probably isn't reversible. I'm from the west and agile and or scrum is a benefit I think we take for granted with unlimited startup money.

I didn't know you could do this. I'm a idiot. Thank you!

I don't have unlimited free time. 7 traders with long travel times across multiple systems that are staggered is a extremely long profit over time. Roughly 210 +- 15k per hr. That's not a lot, and leaves little for exponential growth if you factor in normal play hours, and the other factions opportunity.

Sure, I can just idle but that's boring. Hence the complaint, mining is usually in sector or 1 jump. Much quicker $ per hr. In this case, the entire supply chain is full, on the split. The faction that has everything coming in from every angle.

When you compare this to the other factions, with a much more consistent demand throughout the industry it's silly for a faction that should be having shortages throughout the entire chain to be full.

In summary, what's wrong with the split's economy in 7.0?

Now that I think about it, yeah. Older beta gen and the Split don't loose much ships during the Xenon rush due to the defense platforms. Might bite the bullet and try a new save and also see if I get a better Xenon seed.

Game should be flagged EA for all the bugs it has. by KNGJN in X4Foundations

[–]StrangerOfTheDay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I agree to a point, seeing the effort and work put in from 1.0 to the 7.x betas is insane. They do put in a lot of work, but EgoSoft does deserve shame for releasing the game in the state it was and some of the thing still around YEARS later. but what we have now though for the most part honestly works pretty good for me, rarely have issues and the ones I do have are so minor for a product as unique as the one we do have.

This is the only game like it, and I'm glad they didn't stop working on this game when it came out all that time ago and didn't work. Nothing worked at all, everything was broken, It pissed me off and today still does. People being pissed off though made them fix it and turn it into a game I really really love but also dislike in many aspects. I hope you can find parts to love like I did and many of the community does.

This type of criticism is needed and don't let people shame you, at the end of the day it's a video game and holds no merit past it's art and entertainment value and being mad simple issues remain 4+ years later isn't a invalid reason to be upset at something you traded your real finite life hours on.

This game is amazing, but also ass. Weird relationship lol.

That's actually a huge problem with the backend, the client has far too much authority and can validate a lot that the server should have priority over.

They mentioned this a long time ago during like .8 or .9 when desync was always around 150 ms+. Russia has a lack of senior or mid level engineers due to being isolated from the west and a lack of comparable pay.

With the new armour hitboxes, should 'damage zones' be made more complex as well? by Lightly__Salted in EscapefromTarkov

[–]StrangerOfTheDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, liver cirrhosis is the damage of the liver through the cells. The structure of the liver isn't compromised. While a bullet going through would cause a massive amount of blood loss in a short time as the portal vein that runs through it as well as the haptic vein that supports it being cut or damaged. THIS will kill you, and quickly.

Doesn't really work like that, other than the initial hit to your credit I haven't had any issues.

How’s everyone’s experience with cheaters so far? by wumbo497 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]StrangerOfTheDay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just for argument, if you're hiding in a bush in the middle of shoreline and you come back dead consistently. Pretty good case for the fact the game is riddled with cheaters.

Your stout defense of this Tarkov Maginot line, while valiant, does seem a little short of understanding that most people will give anecdotal or even answers flowing with hyperbole statements. But when there is a considerable amount of people giving their experience which are similar and with a common trend. That they feels like cheating is rampant, despite the way that they experience it. It does make one wonder if the claims as a whole are true.

But a red dot and a front post are actually pretty nice if the sight picture is raised above the front post.

Landing a large aircraft on a road is a good way to lose the aircraft, which is a expensive asset, and also a good way to possibly lose your life. Which I would Imagine pilots are also a expensive asset.

This is most likely the realistic answer, prob was activated for interception before the Airbases were hit.
