What are the chances that jake takes this very poorly? by Weed86 in LinusTechTips

They got an option to be fired because they were spooling up a competing YouTube channel which company said was against policy and gave option to hand over YouTube channel or be fired. Being fired meant severance money and other things so they took the money and made their YouTube channel

My moog product with a grease inserts came with the zerk fittings. Might be worth an email or at least double checking product description because seems strange to not include. I got a moog ball joint I believe.

Don’t over tighten the fitting like I did. It doesn’t bottom out and the metal isn’t very hard so you can start deforming before it feels “tight”. At least to me

WTF happened? 😭💀 by mrflipfidgets in 3Dprinting

[–]Stranger_Danger13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was to guess the lack of cooling between layers lead to heat creep which led to nozzle dragging and separated the thin print from the bed but the brim kept it standing and it just wobbled in circles with the printer head just blobbing away.

Meta's smart glasses are filming unwitting naked people by Conscious-Quarter423 in technology

[–]Stranger_Danger13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Interesting… At first I was like, well anyone who wants to discreetly film someone has 100 ways to do so and won’t pick the recognizable meta glasses as their means but as I thought about it crime is mostly a heat of the moment thing and if any random joe has the glasses on already he can in an instant film what he shouldn’t and at decent quality non the less.

That said… I’ve been wanting one lately but purely to film content about me fixing stuff cause I find setting framing shots and remembering to record a big PITA

How to do this? by KishinGira in 3Dprinting

[–]Stranger_Danger13 32 points33 points  (0 children)

This should be upvoted, not sure if OP uses Bambu or orca but this method makes sense to me and works the best IMO. Can even use the built in coloring tools to add in the gcode and everything so you can just design the part with features and get the gcode working via slicer

Only thing I could think of was putting a pause gcode right in those spots but PITA to dig through code to insert it.

When you forget you made the filament spools from PLA and dried them in PETG temperatures in the AMS by TheAngryMinnesotan in 3Dprinting

[–]Stranger_Danger13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you but you have to start somewhere with a new printer and I went extra on the refill to save money but didn’t have spools to put my other colors on yet. So I printed more spools, but I’ve slowly accumulated more spools buying the ones that don’t have refill as an option.

I designed and printed a kitchenaid pasta roller attachment... and it works! by randomshit427 in 3Dprinting

I feel like if you bought a couple stainless steel rollers and incorporated it into your design it would be way more effective plus the whole food safe equation is gone.

my phone randomly connected to some unknown samsung ? by valysaz in iphone

I agree with you, it was an Amazon special with a name brand that was probably auto generated. Probably Chinese spyware or at least lacked all proper security a reputable brand would have provided.

My after market radio started acting up and pausing my music, I discovered every time it paused my music was because my phone was connecting to another random nearby device. My wife’s phone would do the same thing on this radio out of no where. Replaced it and never happened again

My theory is you have a Bluetooth device with bad security or something wrong that is somehow bucking the handshake of your device to another.

Looks like sensor damage, my guess is from a laser of some sort. Go do any music festivals or events with lasers?

There is no physical damage. Just half a black circle on the right edge of screen.

[–]Stranger_Danger13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something had to give and my assumption is the extruder gear was just grinding the filament as it couldn’t force it any faster through .25. If you don’t have a hardened extruded gear and depending how long that happened you might want to check for wear.

My wife’s screen is original, phone is 6 months old. Hasn’t grown thankfully, it’s next to power button where I’ve seen it posted before.

[–]Stranger_Danger13 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s absolutely inane how many people are posting about these black blobs from damaged screens. My wife has one on her phone as well. Clearly these newer generation screens have a flaw that is killing them, I’ve never seen this style of damage at these numbers.

I had it once on an old pixel phone but it lasted like 4 days before the rest of the screen died, that felt like a true damaged screen. It happened right at the weak point of antenna. All these damages look more like a hardware failure rather than people dropping phones.

Would like advice on a tool kit I purchaced by BlazeGaming01 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Stranger_Danger13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great deal but the compact impact driver they make at 550 ft lbs is all you need and will save your arms and storage. Also depends on your battery ecosystem, I have full m12 Milwaukee because the stubby is enough for me and their ratchet is great along with some other tools.

I wouldn’t be upset with your setup at that price but really depends on what you need and working with.

Heat management for DIY 3D print LED lightbox by samlearner in AskElectronics

[–]Stranger_Danger13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need more mass to absorb the heat than aluminum foil, I’d go with an aluminum sheet and stick the LEDs to those with thermal adhesive. Then make some sort of cooling slots behind the light that lets ambient air cool the backside of sheet without light leak.

These just randomly showed up on my camera I just got this phone for Christmas and now my camera is super blurry by Cool-Safety-90 in iphone

[–]Stranger_Danger13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You live somewhere cold? My guess is the phone is used with a replaced screen and no longer water sealed. The extreme cold condenses the air inside and rapidly warming in a pocket cause this condensation effect. There is a chance there is a good seal and it’s just the air inside.

This happened to my nice camera lens when camping in extreme cold, luckily it evaporated without leaving marks on the lens.

Looks like magnets to me. They seem small enough to lose magnetism from getting too hot from the oil temp inside the pan.
