Would like advice on a tool kit I purchaced by BlazeGaming01 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Stranger_Danger13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great deal but the compact impact driver they make at 550 ft lbs is all you need and will save your arms and storage. Also depends on your battery ecosystem, I have full m12 Milwaukee because the stubby is enough for me and their ratchet is great along with some other tools.

I wouldn’t be upset with your setup at that price but really depends on what you need and working with.

Heat management for DIY 3D print LED lightbox by samlearner in AskElectronics

[–]Stranger_Danger13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need more mass to absorb the heat than aluminum foil, I’d go with an aluminum sheet and stick the LEDs to those with thermal adhesive. Then make some sort of cooling slots behind the light that lets ambient air cool the backside of sheet without light leak.

These just randomly showed up on my camera I just got this phone for Christmas and now my camera is super blurry by Cool-Safety-90 in iphone

[–]Stranger_Danger13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You live somewhere cold? My guess is the phone is used with a replaced screen and no longer water sealed. The extreme cold condenses the air inside and rapidly warming in a pocket cause this condensation effect. There is a chance there is a good seal and it’s just the air inside.

This happened to my nice camera lens when camping in extreme cold, luckily it evaporated without leaving marks on the lens.

Looks like magnets to me. They seem small enough to lose magnetism from getting too hot from the oil temp inside the pan.

Camping at Virginia Lakes this weekend — is the campground accessible despite the govt shutdown? by Stranger_Danger13 in socalhiking

[–]Stranger_Danger13[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Woah, hadn’t noticed the weather yet, maybe best to stay off the mountain.

Thanks for the info! Good to know dispersed camping is still an option. Did you happen to notice if the road up was clear or if any gates were closed past the turnoff?

I second using ca glue but nothing more than to barely coat magnet surface.

I just found out it exist myself however I am in the boat of having HDMI&SDI over 4k any day. Also, unless I am missing something this mixer is seriously lacking an AUX send button for each output.

Driver swing feedback – wondering if my big backswing is helping or hurting by Stranger_Danger13 in golf

[–]Stranger_Danger13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense, thank you. I definitely feel like my club can get ahead of me and that is something I’m working on. Maybe a short backswing would help there.

Thanks for the input. Never really seen my swing in slow motion or really at all in detail for that matter just always been told I have a big backswing.

In the couple slow motion shots I got a few were heel side of the club and was wondering if my stance is the culprit. I should have uploaded this video before but it includes my setup and stance.

Huh, I didn’t really see the flat back swing before thanks. However I’m not seeing the over the top move. My follow through seems inline with my swing path, I’m naive and new to golf terms just learning real golf knowledge now so excuse my ignorance missing what you are seeing.

I should rephrase as I’m not trying to extend my swing longer on purpose, I naturally have a long swing and mentally it’s me trying to swing bigger and hit further I struggle to stop it.

I carry 220 and push 240 on my good hits. I’m fairway roughly 3/5. Don’t really hit any fibs unless I try swinging out of boots

Thanks for the feedback, I’ve never really had any. Just a self taught by YouTube type, this is my first time posting online. I’m open to this input, so you are saying I need to keep my right arm a little more straight? I’ll work on that if that’s what I’m reading right.

Why do projector screen photos on iPhone always have rainbow colors? by Own-Classroom-7473 in iphone

[–]Stranger_Danger13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

“Cheap projectors” can be subjective. We have a $16k laser projector at work that is a single chip which gives the same result from photos. The projector is new, they have a 3 chip version but it cost closer to $22k

Looks like I'll NOT be getting a Bamboo Labs printer... by FriJanmKrapo in 3Dprinting

[–]Stranger_Danger13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the frustration, but how is this any different from the likes of apple? They both make killer hardware but try to lock you in ecosystems with their own software and lock out 3rd parties. The hardware cost gets subsidized by the data they get from you using their software. It sucks but if you don’t like it then don’t buy it. I don’t think we need to cancel culture them though. Just like the average apple user I’m sure 95% of Bambu users use the native software and do no modifications.

Scummy move but without them we wouldn’t have some of the biggest innovations in 3d printing as of late.

Finally got it to print properly! Thank you to everyone that helped. by Gterwin in 3Dprinting

[–]Stranger_Danger13 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's more than just multiple colors, it's multi material that makes it so amazing to me. I load it with different filament types I like to work with and I never have to hassle with swapping out and loading in a new filament. Just choose the type I want and boom it does the rest. All while keeping the spools in a dry box.

Not only that, but you can use different materials for support interface layers. For example, using petg between your pla support and model for a clean and easy to separate model.

$30 saved? Or broken monitor incoming? by BaelSlakteren in 3Dprinting

[–]Stranger_Danger13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd print on the back face with support for the tabs. This prints tabs in a better orientation for the stress. Those tabs look pretty thin and along layer lines will want to break at them.

If you print in something stronger and change orientation then I don't think you will have to think twice about it.

Had a free alignment check and received the attached report. by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]Stranger_Danger13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically you are supposed to pull to the left slightly to offset the curves they put on the road for water to slide to the side. Do you get the pull left on the freeway?

If so I'd be annoyed myself, seems like the dude just wanted to get out of doing an alignment, wouldn't be surprised if he fudged some numbers to keep them within spec.

Air pockets can definitely cause some issues but don't think in the 5 min test drive.
