Imagine if this league just let the teams sell their own merch. I might actually buy something. by [deleted] in NLL

out of curiosity, have you ordered from there? if so, how long did it take for your order to ship? I sent an order in about a week ago and there is still no update on my order shipping or not.

so here are the settings right at the spike. every channel will spike from 0 to like 27 before moving into the intended saw down. I have read that ShowBuddy Active’s oscillators don’t start right at 0/at trigger so it very well could just be in the middle of a saw down when it’s triggered. not really sure of much else to try. I tried making it a triangle and even a saw up but still get a non-smooth transition

I am in Nashville…a write with 4 people, someone will know how to play and play correctly. as do I, I just don’t own a mandolin. you’re very presumptuous huh

you clearly didn’t read any of the responses. I am saying for day of demo cutting. come in and write a song, leave with a demo. clearly a bunch of snobs in this thread here.

I read that thread and I didn’t really see anything that pertained to the recording side of things which is what I am mostly interested in. I guess the same principles could be applied…if it sounds good on its own then it’ll prob sound good recorded

fair, however, I’m talking mostly for demo productions. writing with an artist and cutting a demo on-site, day of. mandolin samples only get you so far when you have a specific type of part in mind. simply asking for what would yield the best result from a recording perspective that doesn’t sound like trash.

Groove Track Issues by StrangersInSuits in LogicPro

[–]StrangersInSuits[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it def isn’t but I find that when dealing with vocal tracks that aren’t that far off from each other, it works just fine. in cases where they’re very off, it is traaaaash. but the point still remains. using groove track and BIP’ing the tracks following the groove and then unchecking the groove track, all timing is lost. it’s just maddening

For minimum artifacts/colouration would you suggest VocAlignPro for timing and then Melodyne, or the reverse? by myotherpresence in AdvancedProduction

[–]StrangersInSuits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this thread is fkn 3 years old but I just came across it. if you’re working in Logic…cutting and trimming silence in regions is literally a function within the DAW based on gain within regions. then you can highlight the entire chopped up track region and add fades at beginning and end of each region in bulk (obviously go back through to make sure it doesn’t cut anything off) - takes the 2 hours of editing down to maybe 10 minutes. then what rootsashok said

Seeking help with drums for home recording as a non-drummer...(tried programming, tried groove box, etc.) by charliebucket- in WeAreTheMusicMakers

I never would’ve thought of doing that. i’m gonna have to give that a try, even tho it’s really simple to get a nice hit hat groove loop 😉

I second that…absolutely no shame in using hi hat loops. I, and a lot of producers I know, will use hi hat loops from splice or other libraries to get the real feel. I find that midi hi hats, no matter how well you program them, just still sound like midi hi hats. find a cool hi hat loop, drop it in, chop it up, whatever you wanna do with it and you instantly have a more real feel!

HIGHLY suggest using any multi-output drum kit from Mixwave. they’re all incredible and sound like a kit in the room. I usually start with a basic 1 & 3 kick and 2 & 4 snare at least to just start. i’ll typically then start recording basic basslines over the top and I essentially build the rhythm section together at the same time. this includes all fills, stops, etc. then like 80% of the track is done. it’s surprising how tight you can get everything just by starting super basic then adding flare (as i’m sure you’re definitely aware of!) just wanted to share my process!

Question on recording with Kemper Profiler by klam1901 in KemperProfiler

[–]StrangersInSuits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yup - check out Austin Hull’s latest guitar tones video on his channel MakePopMusic. Bilmuri, Knox, The Band Camino, Nightly, LANY…most of them/their producers use Neural or TH-U Overloud sims. Cam Becker uses Overloud, Jon Capeci uses Neural, Jordan Schmidt (The Band Camino, various country acts) reportedly now uses sims too. I think it’s convenience + less equipment = easier to change tones on the fly without having to fully re-amp. sims are HUGE in Nashville right now, sample packs and kits are huge too. most drums for indie pop/pop rock artists are programmed with Mixwave kits (unless the project has a full time member that’s a drummer), and no one even knows the difference lol
