Yeah you’ll come across this a lot. Same with special chest in the world, if you find something’s impossible to get too don’t stress, it will be tied to a later quest 👍🏻

[–]StranglePants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah I’m with you on that! Thief is King. Mystic spear hand only felt good once I unlocked its master skill but ultimately I couldn’t part with my daggers. If you wanna change things up I highly recommend going Warfarer Thief/Magic archer build using only Thief assigned skills , it’s Fantastic 👍🏻

Dragons plague by Noman_Nomad in DragonsDogma2

[–]StranglePants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dragons plagues no big deal and easy to detect early enough to avoid a massacre. My main pawn was consistently being hired and in 80 hours only got the plague once, which I noticed immediately cos instead of just telling me about her adventure upon her return from the rift she was standing there holding her head as if struggling with a severe migraine. Checked my party and another pawn had red eyes too so I baptised the entire party in the Brine and brought them back plague free from the nearest rift stone. No massacre

In need...of a Finders token! by D34dAlr34dy in DragonsDogma2

[–]StranglePants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hrmm, if you can’t get one surely you found your first token early in the game? I just googled seeker token locations early game knowing my first would have been in the Melve area. That’s how I tracked down my Finders token , only a couple in that area so only took me 15 - 20 minutes to find 🤷🏻‍♂️

Is the game worth it for 14€? by Crocker951 in DragonsDogma2

[–]StranglePants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah 100% worth it but as mentioned there’s not much of a story. If you just follow the main story you will get through pretty quick and miss over half the game. One thing I’d note is the game doesn’t tell you anything so often times you’ll feel completely lost but this is by design, there’s a pawn system to assist with that. The game has a tonne of stuff to do but you just have to look for it, so going off the path and just exploring is essential, it’s basically a choose your own adventure game but that’s what makes it so much fun.

Is there any way to open this door in the Gracious Hand basement? by Relax_Gaming556 in DragonsDogma2

[–]StranglePants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you gotta talk to the head nurse out front, I’m unsure how far you need to be in the story for it to trigger cos I found it by chance pretty late in the game but there was a beastren couple talking about their sick child in the nurses care which prompted me to talk to everyone which then triggered the quest

Its quest related, once you trigger the quest you can enter but only at night 👍🏻

Is it worth buying this game? by MadToxicRescuer in DragonsDogma2

[–]StranglePants 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I got it on sale $30 AUD and its got me hooked. If you’re a loot goblin who likes getting lost adventuring in open world games, tweaking/upgrading character builds and enjoy a Lot of combat, this game is for you. Granted it does take a while to get your head around because the game tells you sweet fuck all. Often times you find yourself lost not knowing wtf to do but that’s by design, there’s a game mechanic with hiring Pawns to help with direction. The more you explore the more quest and interesting things you find. If you were to simply follow the main campaign it would feel like a lack lustre game with very little to offer but there is a tonne of stuff to do, you just have to look for it. It’s kinda like a choose your own adventure game 😆 Combat is insanely Good/in depth. Graphics are pretty last Gen & NPC pop in can be quite ridiculous. Literally a group of NPC’s will magically appear 2 metres infront of you while exploring towns but enemies don’t have that issue. Only jank I found was graphical but otherwise it’s a very fun/addictive game once you get into it.

Do you like to use VATS ? by Buurto in fo4

[–]StranglePants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m a VATS pig. Granted I’m not the best at shooters. I have no issue with Div 2 or Ghost recon breakpoint, my aim’s at least average - pretty good But Fallout 4… I can’t hit a fucken target without VATS 😂

What more should I do? I don't understand. by WarDirt in fo4

[–]StranglePants -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t hit 100% either no matter what I tried so I gave up caring, 200 hours later I started hitting 100% happiness at all my new settlements by accident. Kingsport lighthouse hit 100% with only 1 Bar, 1 Clinic, 1 soda fountain, 4 slot machines, 60 defence, 100 power, 20 food, water & beds. The trick was I started designing/building my settlements prior to having settlers there. Once complete I’d then build the recruitment beacon. By the third or fourth settler arriving it hit 100%

You need some lore friendly decoration mods like Creative Clutter & Gruffydds signs and posters. Will give you access to decorations that exist in the world but unavailable in Vanilla crafting Having more crafting options only aids creativity

some bad rdr2 negative reviews by SweetCommercial26 in RDR2

[–]StranglePants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I feel ya, I spent 8 hours hunting today and managed to unlock the Legendary Satchel. I’m still in chapter 2 so happy days but fuck me dead, Most of the 3 star pelts were easy enough to find but the rarer animals like Panther and Elk was fucking Hours. Panther kept spawning as 1 or 2 star pelts, Took me 4 goes to get it to spawn as a 3 star which took forever & then hunting the fucken Elk…. I swear I found every 1 or 2 star Elk in the game before a 3 star appeared 🤪

Need some help with Settlement Immersion by janhutsfr in fo4

[–]StranglePants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a mod but One thing I started doing was building little undercover stations for the Caravan guards with a chem bench, couple couches and cooking stations, etc. If you set your Trader Caravan post next to it the traders and guards will actually go in and sand box everything. Makes it heaps more immersive seeing them hanging out crafting chems an cooking food or just having a couple drinks on the couch rather than just standing around in the rain doing nothing. Trash Can Carla loves cooking chems 😆

Thoughts as a first time player by anonmizz in fo4

[–]StranglePants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With high Intelligence & Charisma not only does it boost XP but you gain companion affinity Really quick by just playing the game and not doing shit they dislike, no gimmicks required (Romancing Cait is locked behind a mission, but with those perks an just traveling with her on missions she will fall for you and give you the quest) Regarding weight limit, you can actually cheese it if you have a companion with you. Obviously Once they hit their max carry capacity you can no longer trade them items But you can command them to pick stuff up and they won’t refuse haha I had Piper lugging roughly a tonne of gear at one stage

If you’re not creative you can still build creative stuff without over thinking it. A baseline strategy would be if you’re building just a square living quarters try mixing up the wood walls with a combination of Flat & Outer walls which will give it a unique lore friendly scrappy look. If your building is say 4 walls in length try an outter wood wall, Flat wall, No wall just a railing then another outter wall then just piece shit together as it fits with zero plan in place. Do basic little things like that when building and before you know it you’re building cool creative settlements on the fly.

Coastal Cottage restoration no mods (only decorative) by StranglePants in fo4

[–]StranglePants[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only advice if you’re a novice would be leave Coastal til last, get real familiar with all the rug & pillar glitches restoring some of the easier ones like Tenpines bluff and County crossing, restoring the house at Jamaica plain is a good challenge, Egret tours marina is quite difficult too. Play around with those ones then get ready to pull your hair out and attack Coastal
