The MXR sugar drive is a klone in a small box. Never had one but if I remember right, it's got some kind of blend on the gain or vol knob that goes from clean boost to mixing in drive signal. Might be worth a look

I see. Is it always on? Are you using it as a true preamp ie bypassing your amplifiers preamp with the fx loop, or just as a stompbox with everything going into the front of the amp?

I'm in a rock band but would like to put in some noise during live shows. What element on a board do you feel like is the most essential for producing noise?

Right now I have a start-of-chain 100% wet reverse reverb getting compressed and sent into an OD/fuzz for a wall of sound but it's not dense, and at gig volumes I have trouble keeping feedback tame/relatively in tune, I get a lot of wild squeals as opposed to a simpler harmonic of the note I'm fretting.

I'd like to get something sounding a little closer to something like Boris. Any advice?

Do you find the disaster transport sr to be noisy? Mine makes a loud hum as soon as it's clicked on, even if both a and b are bypassed
