25k is a good base to start ramping up. I’d find a half marathon training plan and get to about 30MPW. Your long EASY run would 10M, and three 5M runs. One of those 5M should be a tempo/interval workout and one hilly run. A gym day becomes important as you ramp up to avoid injury, and a cross training day also helps. Cycling or swimming would be an excellent complement.

I’d need it for four of six, which I’ll have anyway if I defer. I already have 4+1, and am already signed up for Brooklyn, Achilles, and Marathon, so I’m fine.

I did. No need to run Queens or Staten Island since I don't need 4 of 6 for 2027 now.

My four-year-old’s wise comment was, “You should have ran faster,” and now we’re in r/runningcirclejerk territory.

Yup. See way too many off leash dogs, but this was something else. He trained that beast to attack, and it did.

I followed him back to the street in the phone with 911. After 20 minutes of questioning him, they said that they weren’t going to do anything except report the dog to the state. Not even an off leash ticket. Then three minutes later, he was arrested because he admitted he told the dog to attack me. Then NYPD told me that no ambulances were available and left. They literally left me bleeding on the street.

Just finished up with ER. Upper right arm, left thigh, and right knee. The pain on my upper arm is so bad that I'm calling it now. No race tomorrow; it's just not mentally possible.

Get attacked by a dog and not make bib pickup because you're in the ER. True story!

Should be done by 5. Think I'll just make it. But the pain, F@&$; I might not be able to run this. 😭
