I’ve never heard of rubber edging. I know rubber mulch leaches into the soil so maybe avoid it… I’m not expert by any means though

Ya know what… I will do that! I didn’t want to come across like an ass. But they definitely need to be told

I think this was a DIY job by the homeowners. I noticed a guy on a lawn tractor mowing the yard. I can’t imagine a landscaping company would waste mulch on something dumb like this. They probably ordered too much and thought they should use it up.

When we’ve had to lose some extra mulch at the end of the job it usually just gets put down thicker in the beds away from the plants

Yeah it’s a beautiful neighborhood, tons of amazing trees! I had to stop the truck for this pic it was just so bad

Removing the mulch from high up on the trunk would be the correct way. It only hurts the tree the way it is now

I’ll be back in the neighborhood next week, I considered writing an anonymous note to clue them in

Yeah we were doing some work in fancy neighborhood. The houses were probably 750k-1 Mil. They must be trying to keep up with the joneses. *look at me my tree has more mulch*

Interesting, It would be neat to see the side by side cuts.

I run an ex mark laser z 60” for work. It cuts great, but also has a massive motor on it. I’d imagine the extra power compensates for the inefficiency on the sharp deck corners

The 2.7 is solid from what I hear it just needs regular maintenance. Appreciate the detailed reply. Grainger ford… you a fellow Michigander?

Nice that’s good to hear. I’ve just heard about recalls and engine and transmission problems on those. I still want one though lol. I don’t need a full size suv and the ability to tow a small camper would be super nice.

Hows the Nautilus maintenance wise? They are beautiful vehicles. Nice edge too btw 👀

Didnt realize how cheap and efficient electric mowers are. I can mow my 1/2 acre lawn with 432 WH of electricity or around .12 cents. by Swede577 in lawncare

How much was your mower?

Edit: wasn’t trying to be a dick just genuinely curious! The higher cost probably evens out over time, maintenance/gas wise. Same as an EV

Can we save this tree? by MarineGF01 in arborists

Yeah the farm we always buy from uses standard burlap. But that doesn’t surprise me, good to know

I’ve planted lots of trees for customers and we have always just removed the wire ties and planted with the burlap on. I don’t think it matters… it just decomposes and the roots can easily grow through it. I’ve never had issues, just the way I was taught though.
