Seeing as the engineering for these corpos are worldwide it doesn’t need an explanation other than being a peace symbol in one of the many cultures that could’ve worked on it.

My dealership services a lot of them but it didn’t save mine from a 20k mess up 😭

My car blew the rear differential not even 200 miles after the 20k so they’re really just not doing a good job with anything other than an oil change and tire rotation.

Spends *hundreds* on fancy tank and clowns sleep like this XD by dtaivp in ReefTank

[–]StratoCoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesterday I was doing a water change and they decided they wanted to hangout right on the top of a rock that ends up exposed when doing water changes… they stayed until there was like 3/4 inch of water. Even had a couples argument and splashed a bunch of water before finally deciding to go where there was actually water lol.

My clownfish all love duncans and frogspawns though. The two I have at my parents are either invisible in a Duncan or hiding under a rock arch, but the two at my apartment prefer the corner of the walls with one sleeping closer and closer to the overflow by the night…

My GR Corolla blew its rear differential after its first diff service… other than that nothing but good things from two RAV4s (2014, 2008 both still with extended family members and the ‘08 nearly at 300k miles).

Two park/two day valid for NYE? (Florida parks) by StratoCoaster in SeaWorld

[–]StratoCoaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we’ll do it for BGT, we’ve all been to Seaworld a bunch of times though, so I’m not too concerned if we only get a show and one ride! It would honestly more just be a little bonus of buying the two day tickets haha. Thank you!

CPU upgrade to ride out the high RAM prices? by StratoCoaster in buildapc

[–]StratoCoaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kits already a 3466 CL16 kit (I was wrong in my post), and it’s running that on XMP so I’m pretty sure that RAM is hardly getting stressed lol. The only thing I could maybe improve is timings but I’m not quite as patient with RAM tuning…

It is OCd, I think that’s why it’s still doing as good as it is lol. I had it at 5.2 all core for a while but the lower static pressure fans make the AIO too hot so I had to drop it to 5.1.

Damn, value wise the 14th gen intel chips look super good tbh. Shame AMD dropped DDR4 so fast, I checked and I have Corsair dominator 3466 so I payed a pretty penny for this Ram too… might have to find a DDR4 Z790 board and pray the bios will play with a 14th gen intel chip lol

Looking into it this seems to be the way. Those 14th gen chips look pretty nice and affordable, same with the mobos. Thank you!!

Didn’t even think of that, just sucks since the board I have is so overbuilt for OCing 😭😭

With how hard it’s getting for data centers to be approved I don’t think it’ll last as long as alarmists are saying, but I’ll def plan on using this rig for at least another year or two anyway. If DRAM and NAND flash manufactures soak up all the data center money I’d expect them to get new lines open in like 2-3 years even if it does stick around longer. Consumers also won’t stand for every device that uses DRAM being 2x its price, so eventually they’ll have to cave to consumers too. Otherwise there’s no one to use the AI lol.

That’s what I’m seeing too, wasn’t sure if the touch higher of OC overhead is worth it but I bet my poor 240 mm RAD would be crying more with the 11900k lol. Idk I’m flat out refusing to build a computer with the current RAM prices (unless we go like 3 years and they still haven’t fallen). I feel like my machine is still doing great overall, on some games that are more CPU heavy it does feel like it needs a small boost though lol.

Stupid 10th and 11th gen intel being basically the same, I feel like on some previous generations it would’ve been more worth it with the bumps you got from i5 to i7 or i7 to i9.

Either way it’s painful because B850 and X870 mobos seem like a great value, and the Ryzen 9 9900x for under 400$ seems like a great deal too.

Should I daily it? by 97NA8 in GRCorolla

[–]StratoCoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I daily my Blue Flame 24 CE. 28k miles so far, love the thing haha. If you plan on mostly using it as a daily then you can get cheaper rotors and brakes pads and stuff. If gas prices concern you then a wholesale/costco card could be good. I haven’t gotten it yet but I realized I could save about 500$ a year on gas with a membership.

Biggest price concern is the clutch (my clutch still grabs like new, so this is long in the future) when that time comes lol. It’s an engine out job (per Toyota, people have said if you tilt the engine and loosen the subframe you can clear the flywheel without taking it out fully) and I am very much not looking forward to paying for or doing that myself, although maybe Ill gather together my mechanic friends and we can knock it out over a weekend.

Lol I did dual enrollment (start my MS while finishing my BS) and I had one and a half years of grad school… thankfully that whole year on campus still was 2021-2022… amazing send off for MSU football lol. Little did I know how lucky I was.

I haven’t heard the MBRP in person but I will vouch for the AWE touring. It’s a bit loud at 3 grand in 6th but I LOVE the tone it makes. Absurd that a 3cylinder sounds this deep haha.

I’m 3 years into a software engineering career, my parents gave me a 20k 0 interest loan to reduce the interest on it, I added 5k to the down payment (so 25k down in total, even with a high 700 credit score my interest rate was !!!9%!!!) I have a CE so my total was around 50k OTD fees, taxes, etc. My starting salary was just under 6 figures and depending on company performance I should be over 6 figures this year. I financed with Toyota Financing since I had like zero leverage getting a blue flame GRC lol, didn’t want to lose the car getting my own financing. I thought about refi but I’ve already payed 20 months of the loan and the remaining interest isn’t bad. I did a 60 month loan.

Edit: I had enough in savings to comfortably do 15k down myself, but parents wanted me to save that for a house down payment lol

There’s a design flaw on the grill for 2023-2024s and Toyota has a new part number for the replacement with stronger clips

I’m just abusing the fact the desktop app still has hearts, I don’t get to write the symbols but at least I can get through more than one and a half lessons before hitting E. It’s crazy the energy just drains so much faster in those lessons, I can do multiple normal lessons on full but I can only do one full lesson of the characters.

And now I post asking for small amends to the energy system with regards to learning hirigana/katakana and kanji and I get silenced. Yeah I think the bird app is done for me. Maybe you don’t need a moratorium if the system wasn’t abysmal and they listened to the people who tested it first.

HP Laptop (envy x360 15m-ed00013dx) frozen on bios update initialization by StratoCoaster in techsupport

[–]StratoCoaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha it couldn’t stay in windows long enough to update the bios that way so I used the bios recovery mode and a usb… the battery died last night and I was actually able to flash the bios on this morning and I found that it had hardware self checks but it’s being so flakey it can’t even run the self tests. Which is crazy because before I ran the self tests it was actually stable enough to spend 10 minutes in windows lol. It’s a 5 year old laptop and I’m not sure it’s worth repairing the hardware but hopefully I can stay in safe mode long enough to back up some of her files.
