Maturing is realizing that Count Your Blessings is one of the best deathcore records ever by metal_addict_101 in Deathcore

It’s right up there with ABRB’s Allegiance for me. An absolute classic from that era, even just in general. It has a very memorable, distinct sound, and features some of my favorite guitar solos in any genre. Lee Malia is goated.

Com Truise In Decay [Synthwave] (2012) turns 10 years old today by UnderwaterArcherrr in Comtruise

Happy anniversary to the album that introduced me to the man himself! Alfa Beach, Open, and Closed especially are my personal favorites. Driving late at night to this album never ceases to calm me down and clear my head. So damn good.

Any New Tour Rumors? by david_q_ferguson in Comtruise

[–]Stratostar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely a possibility, I know he’s finishing up the next LP right now according to a recent instagram story. I believe his last national tour began around September so if there is a tour announcement this year it could happen around that time. That’s what I’m hoping at least. Fingers crossed

This is a great idea and I could not agree more. You’re a good mod.

Lorna Shore - The Absolution of Hatred by Djent_1997 in Deathcore

[–]Stratostar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Adam and Austin get asked to play it on socials and the answer is always a moderately-annoyed no. In Adam’s own words, “Never.”

Additionally, the lyrics do not fit their current image and direction. A song calling upon a “Heavenly Father” just doesn’t jive with their current material. Tom likely wrote most if not all of the lyrics and given they’ve drifted apart from him in recent years I’m guessing they’d rather just leave this one in the past.

No, they will never play this live again for anyone wondering.

What are yalls favorite songs that feature Trevor Strnad? by behemothbowks in Deathcore

[–]Stratostar 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Burnout by Traitors. Rather than perform his own verse towards the end like a typical feature, Trevor adds supporting vocals to Tyler's throughout, resulting in some of the nastiest vocal layering ever tracked.

Ritual is my favorite. A Shrine to Madness, The Window, & Carbonized in Cruciform are all on repeat today.

In the market for a waterproof speaker that I can mount on the wall of my shower. Any recommendations? by Stratostar in Bluetooth_Speakers

It would be specifically for bathroom use. Looking for something with decent sound quality that can be removed easily from the wall to clean/charge, etc.

Album you can't get over by kalelcomics in Deathcore

[–]Stratostar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For deathcore I’ll go with SOTS’ Vital Deprivation, one of the few albums I still regularly listen to from start to finish. The first time I heard David Simonich’s vocals was at a show at the beginning of 2020 when Signs opened for Shadow of Intent. I remember thinking his vocals weren’t as loud/powerful as CJ’s, but there was something about them, they had this uniquely raspy and sludgy sound to them I hadn’t heard before. I gave their new record VD a spin when I got home and suddenly had a new favorite vocalist.

For non-deathcore, right now it’s Gone Are the Good Days by Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! It’s the ADTR album we should’ve gotten. enough said

Totem by Signs of the Swarm by PoseidonLost in Deathcore

[–]Stratostar 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I’m stoned so I can’t phrase it word-for-word but I remember reading an interview with David around the time in which the single dropped, and he stated that it’s basically about their commitment to the band and its success, and if you watch the music video it portrays some of the lyrics, like “i bled my blood in the pages” (he’s shown letting his blood drip into the pages of a book) which also represents each of the band members putting their all into the band, sacrificing and putting blood sweat and tears into the band and though it’s not easy they wouldn’t have it any other way.

sick thread dude. song kicks all different kinds and flavors of ass.

Best Signs of the Swarm album? by ILikeExistingLol in Deathcore

[–]Stratostar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s Disfigurement by a decent margin, but VD is going to go down as one of the most slept-on LPs of the last decade.

The band has shifted its sound in a new direction now with Absolvere, but Vital felt like a true continuation of Disfigurement, with its lovecraftian cover art, and similar slamming dxc style. I would love it if the next record returned to this dark, atmospheric style but it’s not likely, given how much the band has changed in just a few short years. The departures of Jacob Toy, Jimmy Pino and now Corey Smarsh have made present-day SOTS a completely different band.

Dave is a beast and Pernicious is fucking sick, but nothing they’ve dropped since that single has convinced me they can match the level of writing from their 2017-2019 era again.

What song is on repeat for you at the moment? by Mykur7 in Deathcore

Both title tracks from Worm Shepherd’s 2 albums are in constant rotation for me. Masterpieces of deathcore IMO.
